Hey All,

The weather has been quite pleasant lately. Anybody wish to have a small meet here in the next few weeks? :red:

My Mini is still sleeping for the winter. She growled at me the other day when the garage door was open.

I'm in. I'll be the one crawling out through the passenger side door. Since my drivers door refuses to open.....:D Either that, or perhaps I'll use the window.,,,

I know we haven't been around much with the mini crowd lately... what can I say... we've been stupid busy and travelling alot... but we'll try our damndest to make it out on March 16th. I've also posted the run as an event on the Calgary facebook network, so let's see if you get any new mini owners out via that link. I've also made a "Cowtown Coopers" group on facebook,, should any of you Calgary mini owners wish to come and join.

16th = last day of the car show & though I would much rather be driving, I'll be trying to enlighten the masses. Have fun!

Oh come on Faster! You can skip out for a few hours :).

I wish! After four days of talking non-stop and standing for six to eight hours straight I'll be ready to invent excuses for my absence, but short of breaking both legs there are none that would fly. And two broken legs wouldn't be any good for driving! (before you all volunteer to 'help out' with that!!)

Ok, so the weather is looking fine for this weekend.

Should we add a little drive? . . . perhaps somewhere for some spring ice cream :)

I was going on the assumption we were driving somewhere, I am working on getting a few nubbies out on Sunday and I am using that as a selling feature. Anybody have some suggestions in addition to Cochrane as that is close to Crowfoot, we could carry on to Exshaw on 1A and I open the floor for further suggestions. :)

Yes, I did spell "newbies" wrong, a little to fast on the submit button.

I was taking it for granted that there would be a drive as well. I'm not terribly familiar with curvy roads on the outskirts so I'm hoping someone else has ideas there.

Anyone going with their summer tires on? We don't need any repeats from last year's first run!

There is a small highway west of cochrane that goes north called highway 40. It is a nice little twisty road that would be an out and back sort of thing. We could do that. I have not been on it for awhile so I don't know if it is really bumpy or warn out now.

I am up for a run down 1A too.

Trevor.

We will be there for a bit, but not sure how long. Long drives are out for us, we've got a pretty long one coming up in about 10 days time.

Ok,

Here are a couple of options for the driving portion, depending on how long people want to go (and given the perhaps poor weather). We can discuss at the beginning what and where poeple would like to go.

1. Get to 1A (crowchild tr). past cochrane, to highway 40 north (forestry trunk road). Take that till we hit gravel roads, and come back. Perhaps take it to Waiparous. Distance - 53 km one way.

2. Just go out to Cochrane and back. On highway 1A. About 21.4 km one way.

3. Go to Cochrane, the long way (Stoney trail to 573 (old banff coach road) to 69 St. to glenmore trail to high way 8 to highway 22 to Cochrane. Total about 66 km to Cochrane.

4. Highway 1A to Exshaw and back. - 79 km to Exshaw.

Open to other ideas. I think option 1 or 2 or 4 would be great. :)

See you all tomorrow 1:30!

I think I will have to pass because of the weather, as I just put my summers back on here recently and they do not do the greatest in this weather. :sad9cd:

I guess it's spring in Calgary. Well, we will be there, if at least for some hot chocolate at starbucks/chapters :).

I'm sorry about not making it either. Between the bad weather and a sick kid, I'm going to have to pass today. I will hopefully be there next time with a new set of wheels.
