Picked up my Cooper S Clubman from Park Lane on Monday, and I thought I'd stick a note up about the overall buying experience.

Initial contact was very good. Much better than Mini Highgate, who couldn't offer a clubman S testdrive because the dealer principle had taken the car as his own!

Test drive was good and the Mark our sales guy was knowledgeable. Drove the Dooper and S. Impressed with Dooper, but I couldn't resist the S.

Spec'ing and haggling process was pleasant. Spent a few hours looking at cars and listening to bad standard stereos, all with coffee and drinks thrown at us.

Finance/GAP and price was all haggles with seriously, but pleasantly. Discounts are definitely possible!

Next test - how do they perform post-purchase?

As the biggest seller in the UK, i.e most numbers out the door, you would expect them to be a little practiced at the art!

well, in my experience, big usually means poor customer service.

Use their service dept at Stewarts Road in Battersea - excellent is the only work to describe them, I deal with Kevin Strauss,

I moved there recently after I got tired of the fight on my hands getting HR Owen to repair the cosmetic damage to my car every time I had work done to it, not to mention the jobs were never complete.

After they updated the clutch and flywheel I returned 4 times complaining of stiff shifts, lousy feel etc - the car felt awful..

Finally got fed up of them telling me it was normal so went to Mini Park Lane - who I can walk to doooo!!

30mins after dropping the car off they called to advise car needed new clutch and box - clutch had bend fingers and this had in turn damaged the box.

S now feels amazing again - love the feel of the shifts, power delivery is better and smoother..

This is going to sound like a really daft question, but when you buy a car from Park Lane MINI, where do you pick it up from??

Ive been to the Park Lane showroom, friendly staff, and I like the way its on 2 floors :cool: Oh and I loved the 'roofs + decals' that were downstairs, wanted to bring one home :p

Next stop is the Marsham Street MINI Cherished site to see whats what there, they certainly have a lot for sale on the website! :cool:
