Currently my auntie owns a 2004 54 plate Cooper cabrio and its gorgeous:D, now lately ive bin out quite a few times with her in it and the ride it terrible, its so bad that my uncle calls it a " bone shaker ".
now i think its mainly down to it having sports suspension an 17 inch s- spokes, but does any one else notice this in their cabrio, or anyone thats been out in one.:)
thanks

I've had my MCSC for nearly a month now and have to say that on a poor bit of road with the usual potholes I do find I have a few niggly rattles. There's a rattle behind the dash, another somewhere around the nearside rear window and one I still can't pin down! However, on the motorway or a good stretch of road it's just fine. The rattles are there for a few hundred yards and then disappear again. Have approached the BMW garage but like any rattle - it's rarely there to be heard by the technician! I too have 17 inch cross spokes but hadn't considered they might be a contributory factor.
I take a bit of a view on it all really. You' don't hear any of them when the top's down and I guess given it's a convertible the build has some 'flex' in it so it maybe goes with the territory. My husband had a Volvo C70 soft top for a bit and he had the odd rattle too. It is perhaps part of the driving experience of a soft top.
Nothing can take away the pleasure of driving with the top down!

Boneshaker is a good way to describe it :p but don't worry - all is forgiven as soon as you drop the top. Any rattles will become a thing of the past.
At least the R57 will be more comfortable :o

I can say that the ride was very enjoyable in the 2007 Cabrio model with the JCW package. I test drove it with my wife and we had the best fun on the Autobahn. The ride was smoother than expected. It's no where close to a "bone shaker" but you do notice the larger discrepancies in the road. The suspension was great and handling in the curves with that 200hp (approx) taking you out of the curve into the straight away was magnificent. Awesome!
I continue to scan these forums for any word what so ever that people can start ordering the R57 2009 model of the MCSC.
