Tonight I'm getting my pics from last weekend's British Invasion. Hopefully I'll have a few good ones I can post. There were five new MINIs on the show field (including mine), plus a bunch of classic Minis, MGs, Jags, Triumphs, a boatload of Austin Healeys, some Morgans (including three Morgan trikes), a few Lotus (including a gray-market Elise), a few Bentleys and Rollers, and a couple Aston Martins (including an ultra-tasty shiny new V12 Vanquish). Over 600 cars in all.

I have five 36 exposure rolls of film that I'll probably post via Imagestation.com this weekend. In the meantime, here's a dozen little teases...

Wow...! Fantastic pictures MGB..! You can really tell they were shot on film (and I'm a digital gadget freak!)
Wish we'd been able to go. We had a British Invasion of our own - my wife's sister was visiting ;)
Looks like the weather was kind too. Next year I'll go.

Glad you all like the photos, I'm rather pleased with them myself to be honest. They were indeed taken with a good old fashioned film camera, I'm quite a techie in most respects but I'm still decidedly old-school when it comes to photography. I figure I've got too much invested in it at this point to switch, both in terms of money invested in SLR equipment and time/energy invested in spending years learning how to get it to do what I want in terms of depth of focus, etc. For the camera buffs, the equipment used was a Canon EOS Rebel 2000 body (finally replaced my 20 year old AE-1 body), a Canon EF28-90mm USM lens, and a Tamron 672DE AF75-300mm LD Macro lens for some of the tight close-ups. A circular polarizer was used for most of the shots as well. The film was all Fuji (I'm 100% Fuji when it comes to color film). Depending on the lighting, I used Reala 100, Superia 200, and Superia X-TRA 400. But enough of such tech talk. I've got all the images on my system, I just need to decide whay level of resolution to post them all in, and then I need to take the time to actually do it (5 rolls x 36 exposures = 180 images)...

p.s. that's my MINI in the background in picture #4 (the Bugeye Sprite).

I've posted about 2/3rds of my British Invasion pics to my ImageStation account. I have 115 pics loaded, and I'll put the last 62 up this evening (that's evening on the East Coast of the U.S.). In the meantime, if anyone just can't wait, the partially loaded album is located here (http://www.imagestation.com/album/?id=4291305047) , ImageStation makes you log-in to view but other than that it's no hassle.
