Had mine fitted on Friday £179.XX and the Technician at my dealer fitted it for me F.O.C . When he was fitting it he said did he thought I might not notice it really as it is a track thing.

Well I feel it has made a big difference the JCW feels a lot more stable in the twisties and the little bit of under steer that was there has all but gone :D

I got mine (on the R53 mind) for looks alone - relatively little difference can be felt unless on a track IMHO... :) If you have the money then there is no harm in getting it :)

do plan on tracking it soon - so could be worth it . My dealer will supply and for £192 which seems a lot for a bit of metal!

Im sure some supporting vendors could get it for cheaper - I presume youve tried them? Sometimes showing evidence of getting a cheaper deal elsewhere can persuade your dealership to match the price... worth a try???

Th price i was quoted was meant to be a fitted free price as also buying new JCW

The only freebie i got out of them was supply and fit black driving lights free of charge

:confused:Are you sure, they're quoted as light weight but they're not any lighter than most MINI 17" rims. I'd be surprised if the offset was higher too, this would reduce track width and give less scrub radius ( and less stable turn in )

Challenge wheels definately lighter than all other Mini 17 inch rims _Was a post about respective weights a while back. they are considerably lighter than crown spokes.

Also wheels do stick out more than S on 17's compared them in showroom Maybe its due to rims ?

Im not sure that is correct as i remember 8.9kgs being quoted before

When you are under the car you can see there isnt alot of metal in the wheel compared to say crown

Happy to be proven wrong but would be surprised if challenge cars where using a relatively heavy wheel

Can anyone weigh a wheel to check. Not that i'm doubting MINI2 Faqs:smile:

I wouldn't of thought the R112's were that light as you can specify crown spokes as a no cost option can't see why you would want to though :confused:
