Okay.....this may seem a bit daft, but here goes

I have a mini covertible and every time I open the doors when it's been raining, a stream of water collected on the roof runs straight onto the seats.

Initially, I didn't give this much thought as the doors are only open a few seconds but now, the seats are slowly getting ruined after only 6 months.

Is this normal for the mini covertible? I didn't happen on my old mini hatch.

Yep, unfortunately that sounds normal, it use to happen to my cabby too. I had the red seats in mine and they were permanently stained to some degree. Subsequently, I just tried jumping in quick and catching the water on myself every time I got in:D

Be pleased you don't live in a tropical area like Madeira Island where we have been having some really tropical downpours. And yes! The water from the roof into the car when doors are open is normal. Both myself and passenger have been soaked often.
