Try Glass's Used Car Prices, Vehicle Valuations, Motorbike Prices (http://www.glass.co.uk/) for a good answer!

I checked there before commiting to buying a Mini One. The report costs £3.50 but that's nothing, really. ;)

Useful site. Oh, and I get my Mini One on Sunday!!!

Good luck!

David

I'm been researching this exact same topic for months now...and the advice I got was to steer clear of the model you are currently looking at. Go for a post 07/2004 model instead because of the gearbox upgrade from Midland to Getrag.

I'm no expert or dont even know the diff. between the 2 but I hav learned that early models have had their fair share of problems and a post07/2004 model is less likely to give you hassles.

it can be a problem. but just because you buy a pre 2004 model it doesn't mean your gearbox will go.

Correct.

When I was looking at my Mini, being a non- mechanically minded person I didnt think it was an acceptable level of risk to take.

If you buying cherished they come with 12 month warranty anyway!
