Had the MCS JCW serviced the other day & picked it up to find that the service book was not in the car:confused:

I thought maybe the tech or the service dept may still have it, for signing or stamping.
Well the service sept didn't have it and the tech who worked on my car had gone home, and his work-box was locked! They told me they would have it for me the next day, and to give them a ring in the morning.
Now it wasn't just my service book, it was the whole, car owner wallet, pack with my owners handbook, TLC booklet etc.

So I rang them the next day, to be informed that they had lost it:angry:

Not what you expect from a main dealer!

Had exactly the same situation with my local Audi dealer a few years back. After several weeks of putting up with their excuses, they finally said that they had looked everywhere (including the technician's tool box) and had lost it. When I pointed out that my car would be worth considerably less without it, they just told me to apply for a replacement copy!!

One strongly worded phone call and follow-up e-mail to Audi UK directly, and two days later, they "miraculously" found it! You could try complaining to Mini UK directly - only problem is that I know that Audi UK take their customer care quite seriously (although their dealer network doesn't seem to:wink:) - I'm not so sure about Mini.............

How the heck can they lose a bookpack when it was only in for a service :puzzled: Numpties!

My service/owner pack was lost the second time it went in for a service.

I forgot to say that the first time it went in, i got it back for it to leak oil all over the driveway!
Ended up taking it back a further 2 time for them to fix a leak they created!

At least its only once a year it has to go in, needed or not for its oil change.
