Trying to find written reviews of run flat tyres appears to be virtually impossible. So far all I have found is this Autoexpress one from 2006.

Auto Express Comparions Review 2006: Tyre Test (run-flat) | Products | Auto Express (http://www.autoexpress.co.uk/products/products/203239/tyre_test_runflat.html)

Runflat technology has moved on quite a lot of late with the choice of tyres improving greatly. It appears from what I have read, and experienced, that early tyres such as Pirelli Euphoria and Dunlop S9000 have well and truely passed their sell by date. A lot of new players have entered the arena; Goodyear, Continental, Bridgestone, Kumho etc. We all know the Goodyear Eagle F1 is a good tyre, so how does the RF version fare? Kumho tyres finished very high in the EVO tyre test of 2007, but what is their RF tyre like.

So what I would like to see in this thread are

1) Links to reviews of induividual RF tyres.

2) Links to tests comparing RF tyres.

3) Links to test comparing RF tyres to None RF tyres.

4) Personal experiences from those who have tried a few brands. (I'm not interested in guesses, assumptions, or "he said, she said")

I don't want

1) "Change to runflats mate". Not interested, it's not an option. I have none runflats on my Cooper so know the pros/cons thank you. If this is all you have to offer then post in the thread linked below.

All help appreciated. Thank you.

THIS IS NOT A RUNFLAT VERSUS NONE RUNFLAT THREAD. THAT THREAD IS HERE

IF you go to Tire Rack - Your performance experts for tires and wheels (http://www.tirerack.com) they usually do a pretty decent analysis of the tires. On top of that you get a review from regular people that have driven on them.

Thank you sir. Good reviews on a good site. The only problem I see is that as an American site they seem to have different tyres available than in the UK, Goodyears runflat for example.

Initial findings from Tirerack is that BMW drivers prefer the Continental 2 SSR over the Bridgestone tyre that won the Autoexpress test in my first link. Although the same comments about them wearing quickly appears in these and other drivers reviews.

Good point but at least it is a start. ;)

It is and I appreciate the link. More and better information thatn I have found on any other site there. Similar UK sites only seem to attract the "These are pants, get non RFs" brigade.

I'm really interested in finding out more about the Kumho RF but the UK and US model numbers differ. Need to find out if they are the same tyre.

Also good help at tyres online @ ReifenDirekt.de: cheap passenger tyres, summer tyres, winter tyres and tyre dealer (http://www.reifendirekt.com)

Although it's a German site, they have an English option. When you look at a specific tyre selection, they list all the places it has been tested - some in English, some in German

Hope this helps
