I am after fitting some spot lights to my ONE D 2004 but not sure where they fit.

Does anyone have them fitted? Is their any chance I could have some photos of the brackets and how they fit?

I got the Minisport 4 spot set fitted to a One D for the boss

I presume you dont happen to know how the lights attatch to the car, as the fittings seem to be different between the diesel and the petrol cooper models.

Bracket fitting is on pages 9 & 10

the bracket fits on the 2 bumper bolts. just undo the nuts,slide bracket on and do the nuts up. job done;):D

its a kit made by minisport. http://www.minisport.com.No they dont attach to the bonnet. i will take some under bonnet photos tomorrow for you,then you will have a better idea;)

we have a 2004 mini one D and the spotlight brackets are on the bonnet the same as the petrol version.

there a good proper fit and can see no problems with them.

Mine are attached to the bonnet too! Bought one of the many listed Wipac kits on ebay with some rather good repro brackets. It took me days to even suss where they should go & I flipped a fellow owners bonnet in the end!

Am I on my own however in not having them working owing to Mini wanting an arm & leg to tell the computer that the car has got spots now: for the time being mine are purely cosmetic...any takers?

Have you bought the wiring kit? It should just come off the main beam via a relay i believe. Having viewed pretty much all the threads on spotlights it seems like the computer doesnt have to be programmed.

However....I am a 2004 One D owner and from your username its seems like you are a new gen owner which could be different!

Jinkster thanks for input. No I didn't bother with the Mini wiring kit as yet. owing to sbeing told that it wouldn't work without dealers programming anyway: shall now get it if that's the case.

I am indeed a 1st gen 04 One Diesel owner: my dealers nicknamed mine 'the diesel cooper that mini never built' owing to it mirroring a Cooper spec...then Mini went & launched a Diesel Cooper in Gen 2!!

Thanks for the poke Jinkster: no I have not got near doing any maint. on the Mini owing to the weather & not wanting to get covered in cack at the moment!
But, as I should be doing it next, is it dealer only or any aftermarket sources?
Also anyone suggest good breakers: someone has walloped my n/s/r back cluster in the snow & I need a new one.
