Im thinking of buying a strut brace for my One.
the one iv seen is the Forge strute brace, Lohen sell them.
Does anyone who has one recommend them?
do they really make as much of a difference?

cheers.

Strut braces will definitely tighten up the handling on any Mini

OMP upper and lower strut braces together work very well.

You can pick them up all over the place but cheapest I found in the UK was strutbracer.co.uk, which will do them both including delivery for £90!!! can't think of a better way to improve handling for £90.

Some of the guys with serious power on Mini Torque are running with OMP set up, and nothing but very positive comments

GTT lower braces and JCW brace upper was what I had on my JCW Convertible and what I have on my GP, they work perfect. But if I was to change anything I'd get the GTT upper brace instead of the JCW one;)

I went GTT all the way with my strut braces:

GTT Aerobox Upper Front Strut Brace
GTT Lower Front Chassis Brace
GTT Mid-Chassis Brace
GTT Rear/Boot Brace

They're just fantastic! ;) In fact, they get the Official NeuroBeaker seal of approval.

All the best,
Andrew.

PS:
Recommend to moderators that this thread would be more appropriately located in the 1st Generation Suspension (http://www.mini2.com/forum/suspension/) forum.

How much would you be looking at for that full package?
Thanks Mark

Probably about £500 but what a difference it makes to the handling AND the scuttle shake too.

Originally had the OMP upper brace but took it off after a couple of weeks as just didn't think it made that much difference, and the fit was just too much for me to live with when it pushes up on the bonnet.

The Forge brace from Lohen looks good though. Got one for my mate whilst on a visit there and he's very pleased with the fit and handling.

Yep - that sounds about right. :)

I have the lower strut brace from OMP. Car feels more solid but it created understeer which I corrected by adjusting my 19mm sway bar to the stiffest setting.
