: How Long Does MINI Production Take? Andy V Jan 7th, 2009, 05:06 PM Just wondering if anyone knew this as I've heard varying things, even after a factory tour I was still unsure!
I had a call from my dealer today to say my car status has now changed to 'production'. Any idea how long it takes from now?
Cheers:) *Vikki* Jan 7th, 2009, 05:42 PM I thought it was 24hrs? faster,Tobias! Jan 8th, 2009, 07:08 PM It akes about five days to actually build the car, but when you actually get the car depends on the production week - in Canada we are currently selling factory orders for February build. And we have the added agony of six weeks in transit! ladhartley Jan 9th, 2009, 01:58 PM The employees at Oxford must be painting those very first Midnight Black beauties, Andy!* You'll be getting one of the first anywhere.:) minicabrio Jan 9th, 2009, 03:56 PM The 1st gen MINI took around 24 hours to assemble from start to finish....
The new one is slightly easier to build with the new front assemblies and dashboards, the time I believe is now around the 20 hour mark. faster,Tobias! Jan 9th, 2009, 06:16 PM The 1st gen MINI took around 24 hours to assemble from start to finish....

Really! I cna't remember who told me five days, but I suppose thinking on it that is a long time in this day and age. minicabrio Jan 9th, 2009, 07:07 PM It's never five days - the MK5 Golf was a production heavy car at nearly 51 hours if you ticked all the boxes on an R32 ;) New MK6 is much easier to build ;) Andy V Jan 9th, 2009, 10:42 PM Thanks for the info Jon:)
I went into the dealer today and my car is well and truly in production now according to their system:D minicabrio Jan 10th, 2009, 10:30 AM Congratulations Andy
