in todays current climate where car sales are plummeting, which model cooper s or jcw have the bigger scope for a discount in peoples opinion?

i have around 17k to play with for a new car and my original plan was a 1yr old cooper s, however if the jcw have bigger scope for discount compared with a s then i may turn my attention to one of them!

I would think the cooper s, with no trade in you should be able to get a brand new s for your 17K.

Also there is an offer on at the moment which will discount a minimum of £1000 off a chilli spec MCS unregistered but has to be pre-built.


Used Cooper S's are selling like hotcakes at the moment, i have just bought mine but spent the last few weeks chasing cars that dissapear. One dealership i spoke to yesterday had sold 18 MCs's in the last 2 weeks as they balance economy with power

The stealers have currently got unlimited access to all the unsold new stock in the UK - not just their own group stock (source: Sytner Nottingham). If you want a specific spec then get them to trawl all stealerships and tell you what is available. There is also a manufacturer discount being applied - £950 on a ONE, must be loads more on an S or JCW.

There is a factory incentive on new unsold cars built in 2008.

I'm not sure if dealers have to offer it. One dealer told me they are contributing towards the incentive. If that is true, I don't know how much is factory and how much the dealer contributes. I have seen the bulletin with my own eyes, so I know the program is real.

I don't know all the discounts, but I can confirm these:
