Just noticed on Pistonheads that the Breakfast Club calender for Goodwood has just been released & that the first even is "Mini Mayhem" on 1st March 2009:

Quote:
...for all Small Sporting Runabouts' Celebrating everything from the original Mini to the archetypal hot hatch and modern Supermini, plus RV sporting light aircraft.

Detailed here:

PistonHeads Headlines (http://www.pistonheads.co.uk/news/default.asp?storyId=19267)

I'm sure more details will follow here:

Goodwood - Breakfast Club (http://www.goodwood.co.uk/site/content/breakfastclub/default.aspx)

Who's going? This is only a couple of miles from me :)

Okay so as it stands lets say we'll have a convoy & the provisional details are:

Location - McDonalds/Pizza Hut Carpark (Portfield Way, Chichester, PO19 7WT)
Date - 1st March 2009
Time - 7:30am

Can anyone wishing to attend complete the pre-registration form:
http://www.goodwood.co.uk/site/content/breakfastclub/Pre-Registration.aspx

Yeah not to far. I'm in Chichester so you don't get much closer  I can make it to the race circuit from my house in less than 10 minutes

I quite often go to the breakfast clubs. Well the interesting ones anyway

Sounds fun! I would be interested. The website doesn't seem to make much sense though. I'm coming from Gosport/Portsmouth way.

Good idea. The website doesn't allow me to pre register for it yet. Its still living in 2008. But I'm interested! Any one know what time it starts? Looks fab though and a perfect occasion for a show and shine!

I noticed that too! :o I'm not sure, someone at work went to one of them last year and I have a feeling that around 9am rings a bell  I have a contact at the motor circuit, so I'll see if I can find out ;):D

I'll be going as it's not far from me.

I've been to a few of these now, they usually start at 8:30, though it might be worth getting there slightly before as I can see this one being quite popular. :)

I don't think you have to pre register unless you're having breakfast. I've been to loads & you just turn up, but then I suppose there's no harm. Toothbrush will be coming out for this one

The website still hasn't been updated with the calender (even though it's been released) so watch this space as i'm sure it'll be up to speed soon enough :)

Anyone tempted by a convoy up there? McDonalds carpark (on the A27 dog leg at Chichester) for breakfast at 8am would be a good bet if it does (TBC) start at 8:30. Only about a mile from there.

Can we get our cars included? Do we just turn up? I wanna get in and be part of the show rather than just a viewer (even that would be cool too)

Yes, if you turn up with a car that fits the theme, you get to park up in the circuit and be part of the show.

The convoy sounds like a good idea, if we arrive together we might get to park together.

Just seen that more info is available on the Goodwood website under "Latest News"

Goodwood - Breakfast Club - Latest News (http://www.goodwood.co.uk/site/content/breakfastclub/News.aspx)

Here are a few quotes:

The first of the 2009 Goodwood Breakfast Club meetings will be held on Sunday 1st March. A selection of vehicles, appropriate to each monthly theme, will be parked up and displayed within the Motor Circuit, whilst regular vehicles will be directed to the public car parking area just across the road. As in previous years, admission to the Breakfast Club remains free, and all visitors are welcome.

A revised and improved website, dedicated to the Goodwood Breakfast Club (Goodwood (http://www.Goodwood.com/breakfastclub)) is available on-line, highlighting updates on each monthly theme, and enabling visitors to pre-register on-line to secure easy parking and breakfast access.

The Goodwood Breakfast Club is held on the first Sunday of every month, from March to December, with the exception of July and September, which have been rescheduled for 2009 as indicated below (*). Meetings are held from 08:30hrs to midday.

If interest is good from this forum i'll mail them & tell them we're all coming :) May get priority or something? Worth a shot.

I love Goodwood so it'd be amazing to get on the track... even if it is just to park up lol.

I'd be coming from Manchester so what exactly goes on as I'd like to see if it'll be worth the trip :D

Crikey that would be a trip :aargh:

It's pretty much a show & shine really with food and drink stands on site. If you're feeling really posh you could opt for breakfast in the restaurant  I'm sure there will be a huge number of old & new Mini's there to look at.

If you want the full low down i'd suggest e-mailing them at cooked@goodwood.co.uk

I know lol but I do love Goodwood. If they rented apartments in Goodwood House I'd live there haha.

Thanks for the e-mail address. I'll ask them a few things and see if my car would be suitable to put on show

Ooh thinking about a trip down? Well not sure they'll let radioactive MINI's on Goodwood! ;) lol!

We're local so let me know if you need to know any hotels in the area and we'll sort you out! There is a Goodwood hotel but not sure its very affordable! Very nice though.
