: Which 0+ Baby Seat in your mini? theminiv Jan 22nd, 2009, 11:26 AM Hey all, putting this here cos there dont seem to be much going on in the other group of threads lol.
Anyhoo, I have a bebeconfort creatis fix car seat, and cos I sit so far back, it wont fit right in the back of the mini. it will go in the front but this is impossible if I have the wife in also!!!!
This is the worst bit, I am having to use a fiat punto as the baby carrier and leave the mini on the drive!!!!:eek::eek::eek:
Soooo,
Does anyone have another make? which fits better?
Help!!

I moved it to the correct forum for you. lol theminiv Jan 22nd, 2009, 01:31 PM I moved it to the correct forum for you. lol
lol, it will never get answered here. Might as well have kept it in my brain ! Paul Jan 22nd, 2009, 01:49 PM I'd be surprised if you don't get an answer, it will be one of only a handful or so of about 300 threads without a response. ;) MJS Jan 22nd, 2009, 08:11 PM We use a Maxi Cosi cabriofix with isofix base in both our Cooper S minis, fits and works like a dream.
I spent a long time looking at everything on the market and this for us was the best option by far, plus you can also add it to the quinny buzz/zapp to turn it into a push chair Morri7 Jan 23rd, 2009, 12:11 PM We use a Maxi Cosi cabriofix with isofix base in both our Cooper S minis, fits and works like a dream.

Same here but ours is not the isofix. Moved on from this stage thank goodness!;) camminich Feb 24th, 2009, 05:28 PM Anyone had any luck with the Britax Diplomat or Marathon as a rear facing seat? It sure does look like it is small enough, but I am wondering how much leg room there will be. googoogaga Mar 3rd, 2009, 12:31 AM I am trying to find a baby seat for my clubman as well. I have no idea with all this ISOFIX talk and also in the manual book it states which ones are compatible. But when I look for babyseats online, it does not mention anything about ISOFIX?
for example.. I wish to purchase

US only products, not available in Europe, so response might be a bit limited in this thread;)
But worth having a look at some of the parenting forums or review sites, as you'd find more info on people who have used those particular seats. Isofix is a European thing, similar to your latch system, except we don't have a compulsory obligation to use this method and can also use just the seat belts to secure seats in Europe.
In Australia I'd stick with 'Safe and Sound' as a brand as they are the leaders in research and development for your market, and part of the Britax global group too who are the world leaders in car seat technology;) Rakey Mar 3rd, 2009, 08:30 AM Does anyone have another make? which fits better?

Whats the age and weight of the child?
Whats the model of car? The build year? And seat trim in it?
So many questions to answer to get to what you want to know;)
But best advice is to go to a retailer, get them to let you try fitting seats in, find out what fits your specific car/child and what you are happy with installing yourself.
My personal choice would always be to buy either Britax or Maxi Cosi, as they have the best crash test results in the market place, and I would never consider anything else. googoogaga Mar 3rd, 2009, 09:00 AM Isofix is a European thing, similar to your latch system, except we don't have a compulsory obligation to use this method and can also use just the seat belts to secure seats in Europe.

Thanks for the response rakey! that was very helpful.
So would my best shot be just to ask the retailers to let me try em in my car ? Rakey Mar 3rd, 2009, 09:35 AM Thanks for the response rakey! that was very helpful.

Yes, as much as we like to think that every MINI is the same, there can be variations from each build or from how the car has been used.
A colleague of mine told me this great story of an experience he had when doing a fitting, it was an A3, and according to the data base he selected the seat that should have fitted in it, but could not get a correct fit in the rear seat behind the passenger, but could behind the driver, and could not understand why. A bit of further questioning revealed that the cars owner used the car to transport his rather LARGE mother twice a week and she always sat in the same place for the last 3 years. Thus compressing the foam so much that the seat was distorted and an alternative child seat had to be used :p
So thats why I always recommend that a seat is tried before purchased, and also so that the user can make sure they are happy with being able to install it too, rather than just going off lists of compliance and what others are using.;) Alex Travellion Mar 7th, 2009, 08:19 PM I can't get a baby seat in my 2001 ONE - boosters only! Morri7 Mar 8th, 2009, 02:42 PM You should be able to. You need to go and test some at Mothercare etc. Maxi Cosi cabrio fitted without too much bother in our 03 S and the interior is the same. If you have the front seats right back then you might find it a bit tight but otherwise it should be ok. Melvis Mar 16th, 2009, 06:31 PM Just got a Cooper, possible the most unsuitable car for transporting a child but hey ho, not going to give up on life and buy some mega ugly mumsy people carrier.
We have a Graco Autobaby base (you leave it in the car and the seat belt goes around it) with a junior baby 0+ seat. The seat just about squeezes past the folded down front seat and you have to stand in the footwell to get baby in and out - BUT my husband has a new way of doing it - open the boot, remove parcel shelf, fold back seat, insert baby seat this way. Easier than squeexing through the door!
We also have a nania 0+ seat that the seat belt goes around, this fits too. lil red mini Mar 28th, 2009, 07:42 PM I can't get a baby seat in my 2001 ONE - boosters only!
