So I had this idea...
155036

What if a bunch of us got together for a fun run in the wilds of the White Mountains, had a bite to eat together and then climbed the Mt Washington Auto Road for sunset... Hmmmm....

OK - What's that? It's been done?
Yeah - But not to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the MINI :D

To mark the Golden Jubilee the 7th (!) annual MINIsOnTop has moved its base of operations to the Attitash Grand Summit Resort (http://www.attitash.com/grandsummit.html)so you can turn a MINI adventure into a MINI vacation. Libby and Bill will be back with the now legendary Friday night trivia contest, Loon Mountain again opens their parking lot to us, Ivan is fine tuning a repeat of his fabulous DSL (Driving Skills 'Lympics) and, as always, the roads and uncertain weather of New Hampshire add their own dramatic twists.

So save the date - Saturday, June 27 for the main event and go to MINIsOnTop (http://www.minisontop.com) for all the details and to download the registration form.

I prefer swords, for honor!!

I was kinda thinking something more along the lines of American Idol or Dancing with the Stars... maybe even a joust? ;)

Gents... Be forewarned. I have been sharpening my jousting skills, while serenading...

That's kinda funny, 'cause I don't recall you even being in the running. Talk about a dark horse.... :D

First of all, for me and Michael it's Jesting, not Jousting. Second, stick around -- you may learn a thing or two.

Make sure you are pre-registered for MOT first! That's the most important thing!

Pre-registration can be done by sending 15% to the Cod; he'll sort you out :)

I'm thinking of pre-registering at Macy's and Crate & Barrel...

I think the trouble starts if you don't send your 15% ...

Jousting, jesting, pre-registering, 15%, woots!

Now all we need is a little Spring warm-up because this looks cold:

That's warmer than Canada (or Vermont) have been! :D

GBMINI

Curious how it gets colder, then warmer, then colder again - do you think that's a cloud layer?

blalor
Feb 25th, 2009, 12:43 PM
Could be just an inversion layer, or local concentration of flatulent fauna.

Now there's a scary thought. If you're right, let's hope it clears out by June!

Temps look just about right for ted, the snow dog. She used to prefer the sun but in her old age, she's much happier in cold weather.

By the way, that map looks a little twisted. Is the topography really like that or did someone rumple the map before posting?

Excellent - Now that Lucky 13 is out of the way it is safe for the rest of us to mail our registrations in ;)

I was just thinking the opposite...lots of curves and wrinkles missing there!

Booked my reservations at Attitash. Tried to get a reading on availability, she said there are plenty of rooms left but also said they are going fast. Hmm.

I heard a week ago that half the rooms had gone.
Recommend booking soon, earlier gets better choice if you have a particular room style / price preference.
