I have a Cooper D and just bought 17" wheels. What (stupidly) just dawned on me is that my suspension might be sky high and the wheels will look stupid.
For example on my old A3, I had the SE. The SE is the "normal" height suspension, sport suspension is -15mm, Sline -25mm, and S3 is 35mm.
I do know the JCW has different spring but basically are all models the same height?:)

The factory fit standard and sport suspension are the same height.
The dealer fit JCW suspenion kit is -10mm and around £1k installed. Doubt its available for the D though...

Brilliant, thanks! Why would you go for sport suspension though?

Cos it has thicker anti roll bars and is stiffer than standard and handles a lot better.
