I picked up my Clubman S on on monday and I noticed the front number plate is just screwed and stuck on with double sided sticky tape directly onto the bumper.
It doesn't look very good.
Should the bumper have a number plate bracket fixed on it?, my Cooper D had one and it looked much better.
Oh and the dealer tried to sneak tyre insurance onto my bill without telling me! apart from that I'm pleased with the performance and getting 41mpg, still running in though.

I've had a go at my dealer last year on this subject, they said the Clubman does't have this plate :mad:

I agree it does't look as good :(

Let me know how you get on, if you get one I'll have another go at my dealer :rolleyes:

Yes performance is great and I can get around 40mpg. :biggrin:

Appears to be another one of MINIs little lotteries this one. They say every MINi is different.

Hey, I know it's cool to be different from everyone else ;) but I did expect the numberplate mounting to be the same :mad: oh and the passenger window with the one touch closing :rolleyes:

My Clubbie S bumper sitting in the spare room doesnt have one, not does it have any holes in the bumper, which would suggest its a dealer part and maybe just them trying to save a few £s

My Aero front bumper has been drilled and the plate screwed on, because of the shape of the bumper it sticks out at the bottom and looks pretty wrong :(

I was at the Goodwood Breakfast Club today, 6 Clubbies there :smile:

3 had plates 3 didn't :confused:

I'm going to try and get a plate as it looks neater :biggrin:

The early build Clubbies have the plate, 2008 Jan onwards they stopped fitting it, to save a few pennies. Find it annoying that Mini have done things like this, it takes away the quality of the product. Still it gives the car a more typical British build value ;o)

What does the bumper look like underneath the plate if it doesn't have the black plastic thing? Does it have holes for the plate to be screwed into?

Mine was built October 07 and has not got one

57 plate mine I got one this was raised on a thread before and the answers were mixed then.

if anyone is interested i have a spare front number plate mount from an R50, should fit the R55/6 too, I only want a fiver for it and that includes postage :)
