The Mini owners club of Ohio, Kentucky and Indiana (MiniOKI) will be having a Mini Meet on Saturday, November 9th, 9:30 am, at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum in Cleveland Ohio. This is an informal meet, with a chance to meet other Mini owners and share news/ideas about one of our favorites hobbies, motoring. While residence of the tri-state are encouraged to attend, we would like to extend the invitation to the folks in Michigan and Pennsylvania. Sounds like a good plan for me, I should be able to clear my not very fully calendar for it. Also since Towne in Buffalo is only 3 hours away from Cleveland (at least at the speed I drive :) ) Perhaps we should invite western NYers too.

Does that mean I self nominated to contact Towne? And is someone going to contact Classic?

Provided I can get off of work I'll be there - anyone else from Columbus interested in meeting up in the morning (early) to have a caravan up to Cleveland? Dayton & Cincy owners want to meet up with us?

I contacted the Cleveland dealership two weeks ago and was told that I had contacted them too late for them to be able to participate.

Didn't realize that Buffalo was that close to Cleveland (I *really* need to study my geography). Of course they are welcome.....more the merrier. I just need to figure out where in the <CENSORED> we're gonna park all these cars

I'm thinking some people in cincy and points south might meet up with us Saturday morning, but I'm going to stay the night up there. I just need to know a good hotel to stay in, which is also close to a Cracker Barrel/Denny's/Frishes on the interstate where everyone can meet up.

How odd that it was too late. And don't worry about your geography problems, The only reason I know the distance is because I've driven it. I'm still trying to sort out the differences between Columbus, Cleveland and Cincy. I can't figure out why Ohio made all of its large city's C's, its quite confusing for the ocasional NY transplant.

Columbus - doesn't have a pro team
Cincinnati- wishes it had a pro team

We'll try to be there(not guaranteed, but I'll try). Sounds like a fun event, but it means I only have 20 minutes of motoring down to the Hall! A few suggestions for lunch afterwards:
-The Winking Lizard, a bar with GREAT wings and pizza.
-Panini's, a bar/restaurant near Jacobs Field with good pizza.
-There are numerous bars and restaurants in The Flats, you'd have to search that up for more details.


If anyone else has an idea, log on and type up.
As far as parking, I really can't say as there's an easy place to do it around there. Parking is on the streets, but hard to find a spot (unless we get there early, and 9 is pretty early for people on a Saturday morning). I guess we'll see what happens.

I got the day off so I will be coming, might even talk the wife into going aas well...since it is her car.

What is the latest from the R'n R Hall of Fame? I would think they would have an activities co-ordinator type person to talk to. They have such a nice big open space in front of the building, and that side road as well - sure would be a shame for us not to be able to all park together. miniyoda - I'm sure you are trying the best you can - thanks for all the hard work.

I've called and left tons of messages for the promotions team, but they never returned my call. the only thing I can guarantee is that we can get a group discount of $2 if I know about how many are going and tell them by monday before we go.

I've received a message about a place where we can park and show off our cars, but haven't researched this lot yet. I'll try later this week. work keeps getting in the way of fun.

Just keep us all informed. Mine is waitlisted at Southampton... I won't have it in time for Cleveland but I do want to exchange experiences with other Mini owners.

In Indianapolis, "Mini" usually refers to the half marathoon associated with the 500 Festival. Wouldn't it be cool to have a long line of Minis along the route where 25,000 runners and walkers go past?

It just so happens that I will be up in the area from good old New Jersey to meet up with a fellow mini owner in cleveland to go see Springsteen in Columbus on the 9th. It just so happened that our plans were to hit the Hall anyway...so count me in for the meet, even if i'll be a bit out of place being from jersey and all.

Hi everyone-I've been out of town and I haven't read all of my emails yet but I have read enough to see that there is a meet at the rockhall on the 9th? Is that correct? Please let me know if that is still the time and the place. I do belong to the local email group, but like I said-I haven't been able to read them all yet.

As many of my friends are either in school or work, most are unwilling/unable to fill in for a friend who pulled out of the concert. As such I have one extra ticket for Bruce in Columbus on the 9th. Seats are way way way up behind the stage (but it's an open back). Ticket is Section 417 Row S. If anyone is interested in going, PM me. I know it's short notice, but I know the Ohio area is full of springsteen fans as nj is.

I was wondering the same thing - not sure myself if I'll be able to make it.

As I said earlier, I only need to drive 20 min to the rockhall, so I'd happily meet people, even if its only a handful. Though I would be inclined to wash my car beforehand, so I guess that requires some notice. So Aritz and Yippie, that makes 3 of us still interested...

sadly, attending to matters of a family nature, which will prevent me from making the trip up there. Nothing serious, but they require my immediate attention.

I checked and that's the original time, so no sense in changing it. Though I do wonder where we'll meet. Last time we were Rockhalling it, we illegally parked on the circle for about 10 minutes to take a picture.

Sad to hear MINIYoda, but I will remember my digital this time, so I'll have pictures. Also you said you were looking into parking areas, any suggestions? I realize 9:30 is before the museum opens, but we could use a meeting place.

We are welcome to meet at my work's parking lot. It is very scenic for pictures and such. The place is Advanstar Communications in Middleburg Heights by Southwest General Hospital off of 71. Do you guys like that idea?

I'm on the near west side so going east isn't a prob for me either. What about like Cain Park or Burke airport? Is there easy access to either of those?

I have no idea, though logically, if there's only going to be 3 (is that it?) of us. It should be simple to just drive around and agree to meet somewhere since any parking lots shouldn't be really full. Just choose someplace I can find (or leave wandering around the rockhall area as the plan) But we need to be sure everyone involved knows. Since ARitz has yet to reply...
