Can anybody advide me if the roof of my convertible is operating correctly?

When I use the key remote to lower the roof it does so in 2 stages exactly as it states in the manual and at the end of the 2nd stage all of the windows lower.

If I use the buttons inside the car at the end of the 2nd press the front windows remain up- not fully up but slightly lowered. If I keep the button pressed all 4 windows then raise. The only way to get the windows to fully lower when using the buttons inside the car is to use the window button.

Is this correct operation? It seems strange to me that with the remote the windows lower but with the internal button they dont!

I have attempted to reinitialise the windows in case that was the problem but it has made no difference.

Thanks for any light anyone can throw on this!

Your Convertible is a 1st Gen model, which was produced through August 2008.

Thats how it should be. And you are lucky to be able to open the roof with the key-fob. Some dealers won't allow that.

Thank you! I bought the car from my brother and he told me the dealer was unaware that it was possible to open the roof with the key fob until he told them and asked them to programme the key.

You can close it by turning the key in the door lock too ... i think :-)

That's a pity Marisa! It worked on my 2004 R52, and it also works on my shiny new R7.....I wonder why not on yours? :confused:

I keep meaning to try to close the roof by puttin' the key in door...it opens when I push and hold the button on the key so I'm assuming that it should close it with the key in the lock... hmmm I shall try this tomorrow :D
