regards pw4 Aug 25th, 2009, 05:19 AM There are two versions of the Apollo kit. Mine looks like it might have been meant to match up with the OEM plastic piece that fits in the front bulkhead, but I had removed that by the time I thought of it so I just wedged the tube through the hole  and it's been fine ever since! Being a concertina tube helps keep it in place. Just to be on the safe side, I recently put a couple of cable ties through the concertina material and tied them to the bulkhead.
The other version of the Apollo kit looks to have an end on the tube that matches up properly with the OEM plastic piece. adam_Randell Sep 3rd, 2009, 08:51 AM i fitted my Apollo about 2/3 weeks ago. putting the tube on the plastic bit at the front grill was the hardest part of the whole thing! took me ages. in the end. i took the plastic bit off, forces the metal tube through the hole and put it on that way with a cable tie. adam_Randell Sep 3rd, 2009, 08:55 AM what fuel are you guys using?
i used to use 99 ShellOptimax and get 42mpg but since the induction kit it dropped to about 41mpg so i put regular 95 fuel in and after a trip to london and back its gone to 43.5mpg.....have you noticed a difference in fuel consumption? pw4 Sep 4th, 2009, 10:17 AM 3 or 4% improvement based on a short comparison drive over the same route - according to the dashboard computer. Wez007 Oct 5th, 2009, 08:30 AM worth the cash then ??? Do you get a batter sound from it ? adam_Randell Oct 11th, 2009, 11:16 AM yea there is a little sound increase - nice and subtle. if your after sound then id go for the K&N Typhoon! Kitis_1989 Oct 11th, 2009, 01:19 PM Adam how comes u get such high MPG? i only get 35mpg at best? i always use 99 super unleaded fuel :S wisey113 Oct 11th, 2009, 03:45 PM IMO I havn't really noticed the difference with the Apollo kit, I have to say I've been a little disappointed. In hindsight I would probably have chosen a different kit like the typhoon instead. ONEhellofaMINI Oct 16th, 2009, 09:49 AM i forced the tube through and siliconed it in place haha ! thats the most difficult part!,
increased noise slightly :), fuel dropped but thats because i hold onto the revs bit longer
haha, i get 38.9 MPG highest ever is 40. adam_Randell Oct 16th, 2009, 10:20 AM Adam how comes u get such high MPG? i only get 35mpg at best? i always use 99 super unleaded fuel :S
really!? erm...not sure lol. i got about 46 for a week or so now its dropped to 39

imo open cone kits are false economy. all they so is such warm air into the induction system

it gives a much nicer sound when the pipe is attached its more rumble than ust a loud noise lol
