Hi,

I have just bought a Mini ONE, 2001. I'm really happy with it. Though the exhaust is on it's way out (corrosion) and I have been reading good things about the Bluefin superchip(?) that can improve performance.

Could anyone help me out with advice on which exhaust to get and whether this Bluefin thing I have read about is worth it?

I have found the following a Blueflame exhaust online -
MODEL NAME: BLUE FLAME EXHAUSTS - BLUEFLAME EXHAUST - MINI COOPER / MINI ONE Catback System
PRICE: £255.69

(I tried to post link to info page but it wouldn't let me)

Will this even fit? - I am a total noob with Minis and am definitely no mechanic, I was thinking I would buy the exhaust online and take to my local mechanic to fit it.

I am also slightly confused by the Model 'RA32' that is on my registration document, I can't seem to find reference to it on the internet.

Any advice/help much appreciated!

Your MINI is Model R50. And the Bluefin is certainly worth it as it re-programs the ECU to that of the Cooper. The power over 4k revs is then certainly impressive. However due to the different gear ratios the ONE accelerates faster with the Bluefin, than the Cooper. (So I'm told)
I have the Bluefin and certainly recommend it. Worning, do NOT buy one from Ebay or other second hand sources as the Bluefin can only be used on one designated car. It would need to be returned to Superchips for re-programming. Better buy new e.g. from Lohen.co.uk
As I live in Madeira I have no connection with Lohen ;-)

The exhaust may look past it, but the chances are it isn't. Its most likely to be the outer casing - according to my service manager its not needed, and they have offered to cut the outer case off - purely for aesthetics. The inner part is probably solid - the outer tin part is a waste of time - not needed. Take that off and you'll find inside there's a new exhaust;) Just a shield nothing else. So go to a dealer and ask if its the outer case going or the actual exhaust;) May be in for a pleasant surprise :D
