recently got my new mini one and im debating if i should get the full aero kit..although the car would need lowering to make the wheels fit snug in the arches

and my mate who has the aero kit on his cooper has said it would be a nightmare to lower and would scrape constantly.. what does everyone think?

also i was thinking i may save abit of money and just get the aero side skirts...

If you can afford it the full kit will look better, the only part that will rub is the front lip on the new aero kit front bumper on speed bumps.

Most people including me cut this away with a dremmel and you'l be fine.

Isn't that lip an aerodynamic thing for preventing high speed lift? :puzzled:

Im not sure but i really dont think this will aid handling in any way that is noticable TBH and most people do remove it if they have a lowerd MINI.

its just gettin the money together n will take a long time to get the dosh for a full kit

I do like the Aero Kit but I just think its been done to death now, so many MINIs have it fitted. I used to want it but I think having Cooper S body parts with colour coded arches/side skirts looks more unique. Not really fond of the Aero front bumper with bits sticking out

I have the rear aero bumper fitted and thats all I'm going to have I love how my car looks now with the S skirts and spoiler I just need to get my hands on an S front bumper and colour code it all.

ye same eyah whitey, after looking all around ive decided i want the cooper S front and back bumpers with the aero side skirts nd colour code the lot, decided i love the big open grill on the cooper S front bumper, and prefer the grill inserts in the rear bumper of the cooper s...will the cooper s bumpers look alright with the aero side skirts? i have seen some aero kit replica skirts £64.99 for the pair which is a hell of a good price!

Yeh the skirts look good on their own. I would go for the genuine skirts myself. Never know what to expect with replica parts, usually very bad quality.

mines 35-40mm lower with aero front and sides. the underlip scraps on everything...soon wears down or snaps though and then Lucky Dave at thinkmini just trimmed it off with a nice knife so it looks tidy but still has a little bit of lip for stregnth

well i think im just gonna get the skirts..for now, credit crunch n everythin then lower it on lowering springs...i want coilies buh ther expensive!

Spax RSX are only like 450 and they would be fine on most folks cars... I think BCs are only 500 or so too. Considering springs are like 150 you might as well save some money and go straight for some spax or bcs etc. Its only like bilstiens etc that are a grand and you only need them for serious track work really. fast road and the odd trackday then spax, bcs etc are preety decent. Plenty of serious track folks running bcs

found some eibach springs for £135 which low the car 30mm.. at vecchio engineering..ther £160 from lohen!!!

thats my trouble too mate! it would be worth saving a little more though and getting coilies as the ride is nicer and you can adjust the height! get the aero kit, then save up for 6 months or so and get coilies....good things come to those who wait!
