Sometime over the weekend someone saw fit to hacksaw the bonnet from a Cooper S at the local dealers.
So if anyone hears of a 2006 R53 MCS bonnet with xenon lights for sale, shout out.
Interesting that all that was taken was the bonnet and the 2 side repeaters.
The passenger side window was broken to gain access to the bonnet release, odd that as the R53 release is on the drivers side.

Of all things to steal, why just the bonnet? There are some pretty messed up people out there.

It's either someone doing some DIY or stolen to order surely? Nasty stuff though.

I've heard of wheels & mirrors and little stuff thats quick and easy getting knocked off but getting out a hack saw that takes time to do .... mate i hope that dealer had video cameras recording

if they knew what they were going after why not unbolt it ??
would surely have been quicker and quieter and less messy.

Perhaps they only had a handheld cordless powertool like a dremel to make a quick exit?
No idea really, just guessing.

yes you could be right Paul, the dremel would save them carrying some tools as it is multifunction and easily put in one's pocket.
and it also would be pretty quick compared to a hacksaw.

maybe they didn't want to pay the asking price for a new bonnet from the "stealers" so they went creative.... ... i know its bad but i still LOL'd a little inside :D
