Has anyone experienced probelems with broken / split rubber seals on the clubman's rear doors?
The rubber seals at the bottom of both windows (the section of rubber below where the wipers rest and above a chrome strip) on my clubman are both split along their lengths for between 4 to 6 inches from the outside. At first glance there doesn't appear to be a problem as the upper piece of rubber still lies along the chrome strip and when you lift them the lower bit is still inside - I only noticed it when washing the car recently. Don't think it is vandalism as they would probably have done more obvious damage e.g. to the wipers. I think the seals have just perished - after one year! I don't use a pressure washer or car wash - just a light hosing and bucket & sponge job - so that won't have caused it either.
No apparent signs of water ingress or rust to the rear doors but obviously needs checking / replacing by my dealer. It's a Sept 2008 Clubman D - great car by the way. Just thought I'd check in case anyone else has had this problem and might be worth checking yours just in case.
Cheers, Gary
