How many Mini Cooper D owners are out there?

I hear imagine there would be some good (go fast) mods for the little diesel - are you thinking of going down that path?

At this stage not likely if I wanted quick I would have got a Cooper S. I have an XR6 Turbo Ute for the go fast car anyway.

Vehicle is in the country, just have to wait for it to get out of customs etc. Ordered some europlates today :) I am very excited, have wanted a Mini for years.

Mine was a bit optioned up, I fell in love with the demo, only to be not able to buy it as there was no other stock. By then I wanted that spec!

Chilli Pack, Sunroof, Bluetooth, Anthracite roof lining, chromeline, alarm, auto lights & wipers.

Looking to do the carbon accessories later on.

Can't be long now!! I have been wanting one since I used to work at the dealership. Finally!

Pepper White Black Roof, Auto headlights & wipers Auto Climate control, Armrest, Chrome line interior, Redwood Lounged leather, Old English Oak(plastic) dash and steering wheel. Bluetooth & 17" wheels.

I still don't have a delivery date yet but its looking like late November at this stage.

I've got a Dooper in Pepper White with black roof also.

Half leather interior, Chilli Pack, mood lighting, 18" wheels, JCW aero kit, chrome line exterior, piano black interior, iPod kit, cruise control.

Took delivery this week as a 2nd owner and loving it already. Not tried to see if it fits in my garage yet but I expect it will. I'm also lining up the accessories I want including changing the side scuttles/repeaters and tinting the rear glass.

Went in to the dealer this arvo to take some measurements for Philip at Lakin Custom Plate Brackets (great experience so far...) and was told "your car is here, may as well measure from that one!"

SO delivery Monday fingers crossed!!!

Monday is the day! Finance all signed up, trade sorted, car being PD... only query I have is what tint did they put on? I wanted one type, but it looks like I might have ended up with something else. Shall see once they work it out.

So far very happy with them! Finance guys were great, sales side all good. The Aftercare guy is the only one I am not 100% with, has failed to return a few calls etc.

Picked up my dooper graphite last weekend.....

chili pack

bi-xenons
16" bridge spokes with NON run flats
space saver spare

Done nearly 500 miles already and doing about 60mpg.

Comments so far....

Xenons aren't as good as I'd hoped. Wanted Hi Fi speakers but factory had discontinued in favour of H-K but wouldn't allow me to select this as an option either.

Dooper owner here! Pepper white, black roof and bonnet stripes. 18" Crown Spokes, Chilli, half leather, MFSW, chrome line interior & exterior, mood lighting.

LOVE my dooper, so much more fun than the One D I had before (but wrote that one off!).

And, £35 road tax (£20 next year) and 65MPG - woohoo!

I might have upgraded her if they had an option but they didn't!

I've owned Diesels before and like the drive of them, the last one I had was a 150bhp Golf MK4. Lovely and powerful but handled like a boat and had no character.

The Mini on the other hand, although I'm not driving it flat out feels quite punchy in 3rd gear and above with the overboast.

Handling is fantastic but there is a funny oversteer on the steering wheel if you get th front end to go light on a bump in the road. It seems that it's due to the heavy steering feel and the lazy way that I steer. I'm sure it wouldn't happen if I held the wheel with both hands rather than just pulled on it with one. Had to explain! Something I'll get used to but not as noticeable on my girlfriends 2003 Mini Cooper.

All said though I love it!!!

Just picked it up, and even though traffic was busy on the way home I could not stop smiling the whole way! :D

Hi i have had my cooper d for 2 weeks now and i love it. Red black stripes and roof chilli pack just done 1000 miles in it but a bit disapointed that im not getting more than 59 mpg ? any ideas? and no im not heavy footed i have been driving very economically trying to get it to go up.

I'm hovering at 49MPG, not as great as I though.

I'm taking it easy on the loud pedal but I do tend to not stick to 70 very much, must be that! :(

I suppose it depends on the mix of driving you do. I tend to do longish runs with not much town driving. Currently 59mpg and 650miles on the clock.

Where did you get your mini from? Your reg no. looks very close to mine ;)

Glad yours arrived... I have no idea what is going on with mine. It was supposed to be a November delivery but I have no build info or any real info on when to expect the car.

Did yours come with the Harmon/Kardon sound system I am told its now supposed to be standard on the Chilli pack.

I've yet to meet anyone who doesn't sit at 56 or 65 on a motorway who gets 72mpg! Infact most I know get about 50 - some less as they do short runs but... The 72mpg calculation is a load of cobblers to be fair - the way its worked is so unlikely to occur in real life its untrue.

found out today that mine is on the boat. It will be in country on the 16th of Nov. That makes a late Nov delivery date.
