I have just seen the thread from April..... has anyone had any thoughts on this or actually bought one..any alternatives etc etc?

it looks pretty impressive and Roland defo seems to know his stuff....the gains look as though this should be one of the first things done to increase bhp on this car...thoughts?

You aren't going to see huge gains with a CAI. However, if does dress up the engine bay nicely.

no no no haha..... GTT (in their section) do an Exhaust CAT rebuild which entails taking the R56 CAt off and removing one of the large restrictions which according to them gives another 20bhp or so...they said something about putting an airline down the origial and nothing came through the other end at all - and it still looks original so no loss of warranty! sounds to me like a winner just wondered what everyone else thought

Can't comment on the GTT option really, but the Miltek highflow downpipe is another option. At least then you don't have someone ripping apart your downpipe and you have a spare to keep or sell on. Older forum posts suggested the Miltek produced a louder exhaust note also but can't confirm that.

I run one on my JCW Tuning kitted S and it sounds good, you can tell there's more gas flowing and it pops more too. You won't see 20bhp either way though more like 10 probably. Lohen does great Miltek group buys from time to time so keep an eye out should you want one.

cheers Kev thats a big help and possibly why i havent seen any posts since april..... wondering though if we fit the milltek...im guessing this will invalidate the warranty?

just buy a secondhand downpipe off ebay, i paid £40 and then send that off to be done

im guessing this will invalidate the warranty?

Either method will... though the Miltek is more obvious.

It'll only be a problem if the engine/turbo blows up and they want to blame the downpipe... which I think is pretty unlikely but I guess it depends how much warranty you have left and how much you value it. You can always return it to stock should you need to.

Mine has been in for routine servicing and the cold start noise fix under warranty with no problems at all.

im thinking the gtt option would be more favoured as you apparently cant tell that it has been modified should it go to the stealer...... i dont mind paying them the £400 on top either as we can just send ours back and get this refunded..... just curious as to the advantages, are they as big as they said in their thread?

If anyone can provide some honest feedback on living with the gtt stealth cat? I am very close to commiting cold hard cash on the cat extraction and would really appreciate what the gains are like prior to taking the plunge.
