For those of you who have ordered a new MINI in the UK - how long have I got left to wait if the MINI is "awaiting transport"? (car is supposed to be at the dealership 14th to 21st).

Does anyone know what happens after they load that big train up with the cars?

Hi ripkord,

Ok so this is what my dealer told me happens for UK bound cars:

1. Mini comes off production line
2. Mini boards a train to the distribution centre in Thorne, Yorkshire.
3. Car then awaits an available lorry to take it to the dealer.
4. Car arrives at dealer
5. Dealer arranges Pre-Delivery-Inspection and valet

Items 2, 3 and 4 can take up to 10 days!!! item 5 takes approx. 2 days depending on your dealers schedule.

My car's status was assembled early friday (11th sept) morning after going into production on monday (7th sept). Today the dealer said its status was in transit. So i assume it got to the distribution centre at some point today and is now waiting to get put on a lorry to the dealer.

This is all kind of frustrating, i'm past caring much now after they catastrophically missed the est. delivery date. What annoys me more is that people ordering a week after me have got theirs. They said my car was on high priority, im starting to think that was a load of rubbish to keep me quiet. I have a meeting on thursday to finalise full deposits and other finance things... lets just say they aint gonna get an easy time from me anymore!
