Hi Guys,

I have an 09 cooper and love it to bits but just wonder if i could get a little more from it ???

Anyone done anything to theirs for a bit better pick up?

I am thinking K&N high flow panel filter, better sprk plugs???

Are these likely to make and diffrence at all?

Any advise would be good.

Cheers

Mini Specialist are best to advise BUT your under warranty so be VERY careful what you do if not done by BMW.

There is not much bhp to be gained ! I've got an 03 plate which is probably not even remotely similar to yours but have fitted K&N induction, sportsflow manifold , cat back Magnex exhaust , high lift cams , boost /dump valve and the results with only 7-8bhp gained are impressive and the sound is awesome. Tuned by a local specialist garage to mini challenge spec and heyb presto . Reduced my lap time on local race track from 62sec to 56 sec and got a ticket for 137mph which on appeal was reduced ! Mini Coopers are not capable of 137 or so they think 1

Does anybody have any idea where you stand with BMW by fitting an K&N filter? It is a paper filter which is what BMW use, so can they say anything about it?

Thanks

I have bought a K&N filter and it says it will not void your warrenty and if the manufacturer try to use that as an excuse yo ucan call K&N and they will get directly in touch with them and lay down the law so to speak!!!!

I have the K&N filter and it made a diference for me. Better throttle responce and picked up a couple of mpg (went from 498 to 514 miles on 12 gallons). I also added the VIP CAI tube, but not much changed with that except the sound. I like the K&N filter.
