Hi All

Any GP owners had issues with annoying rattles in the car?

I fully appreciate it's not the quietest car in the world due to the tuning and lack of sound insulation, but putting that aside I'm getting a particularly annoying buzzing/rattle coming from the passenger side door panel and also the central console where the gear stick is..

Lastly theres also a creaking/rattle coming from the rear of the car/boot lid area.

I'm half expecting the 'what do you expect, it's a GP!!' type comments, but when you're driving on a bumpy road at medium pace speeds it's quite annoying!

Has anybody had similar issues and actually done anything about it?

Many thanks :)

i too have the passenger door creak and the same noise coming from the rear. blaaaaady annoying is it not?!
i'm planning on taking appart various plastic panels and having a look at using some felt tape around where the parts meet and touch other bits of plastic... lord knows when this will actually happen, but it's a plan nonetheless!

I had the same problem on my cooper, i had to take the door cards out and pad it out, Hasn't rattled since.

Oh yes, very annoying.

I've been investigating whilst driving with someone in the passenger seat - it's the seat belt adjuster buzzing, the panel underneath it creaking (which is a large panel that stretches back), and the centre consol silver ring things buzzing too.

Not sure what is it in the back, but at low speeds that's the loudest creaking

i lost the centre silver ring vibration noise with some felt tape. i removed the whole of the instrument panel - remove the silver dash trim by pulling it from the bottom and then towards you. if you havent removed it before the central bit has some tabs on that will probably break off, dont worry if they do it goes back in fine without them. anyways, once the panel is out i went round all the screw points and anywhere that plastic met plastic and placed some felt tape then did the assembly back up. that seemed to cure that one... the other ones appear to be coming from where you say so too... just need some time to get to them now!
