Thats right its not the official BMW car but it has better spec and is cheaper too, and all the extras are available from Tony Franks at Mini Motorsport Centre.

Have seen this car being built from start to finish. All this hard work was carried out by Tony Franks and his team of Ex JCW at Mini Motorsport.
I think they come out at around £28k Completed. You are correct they converted a standard Cooper S and added 6 pot brakes, forge engine goodies, custom porting, KW coilovers and custom brake ducting and diffusers. The adjustable rear wing looks alot better then the Gen 1 Mini aswell. Also a complete paint and vinal layout. And amazingly only took them a month start to finish. All the Roll Cage was custom made no bolt in job. Every piece of sound proofing was scraped from the car and fully painted inside.
I saw the car Wednesday and they have even done a few more adjustments since the show to make sure everything is at its best ready for this season. The car is expected to do very well due to the bigger brake set up and the better compound rubber i can see alot of orders being put in for these. I was so tempted the photos do the car no justice it is amazing. Very well made i saw what they done to their Gen 1 Mini's and this is better by far. Just goes to show that when Tony says he will deliver he does.
Will be looking forward to seeing this on the track this year.

£28k? They're around $90k AUD over here if I remember correctly!
