After 2 years of ownership of our once much loved Clubman D,we've finally had enough of the countless trips back to the dealers for warranty repairs.
It was a great car for the first six months or so,but after the first service @12500 miles things started to go wrong.
It developed an oil leak from the engine, which took 3 attempts to put right,
squeaky windows that now dont close properly, rattles from the dash that were made worse each time they were supposed to have been fixed, engine vibrations since oil leak fix, I could go on.....
the final straw came yesterday when we had to take it back again for the clubdoor to be fixed.AGAIN!
each time the car went in for repair, it came out in worse condition than it went in! Of course the service department never take any responsibility for poor wokmanship, and the sales team arent interested once theyve got your cash.
Had a chat with the MINI brand manager yesterday, he was quite sympathetic, and offered to buy the car back for £11500. £19500 new exactly 2 years ago! as we bought it on mini select, it would cost us £1000 just to give it back. NEVER AGAIN WILL I BUY A CAR USING PCP!
Anyway on the way home, called in at honda dealer, who had a lovely Civic 2.2cdti for sale. 2008, 4000miles only. they offered more than the Mini dealer for PX so we took it on a test drive.
WOW ! what a car!! pick it up next sat.
so its goodbye to the clubman, and F**k off to Coopers.
I've still got my 2005 Cooper, which has been hardly any trouble(I service that one myself!) so we can still have some MINI adventures!
Note to Coopers,Girls in tight skirts may be pleasing on the eye, but they dont get your car fixed right first time!

What a shame of the problems you had, I guess there are no other MINI dealers near to where you are.

I'm sure the Honda will be reliable enough for you and you still have a MINI in the family!
