Hi.
I'm new here. That's my first post. I love this forum.

I'm a brand new owner of MINI Clubman D. It's with chilli packet and a few more things. Today I made my first 100km. I love this car.

That's what I want to ask is:
I checked the VIN number and my car is in 06/2008 built. I bought it brand new from MINI. There was a promotion but I didn't noticed the time of built. So I want to ask is there something to worry about?
Must I change oil or brake fluid or something else?

As I wrote the car is new. Year and a half is not so long but I don't know.

Thank you for your help:)

seems a little strange for the car to be 18months yet new.
Have you checked under the bonnet. You can find the manufacturing date plaque in there

I checked it. It's 06/2008.
When I checked the VIN in BMW-Z1.com Top page - By Mitsuhiko (http://www.bmw-z1.com) it's 06/2008 too.
And on board computer the next oil change is for 06/2010 or 20000km.

I have the same scenario with my Clubman. Bought September 09, but is actually a 2008 build.
All this means is that it sat in a holding yard or at a dealer for some time before 1st registered. I've only done 11,000 klm, but the indicator is saying that a service is due next month or 20,000klm.
I spoke to the MINI service dept, and they said the 1st major service comes at a calendar date or milage, whatever comes first. After that its all done on conditional servicing based on fuel consumption. If all you do is highway miles, then services will be along way apart, but if you are constantly doing stop / start city driving then it will have a shorter service interval due to increased wear.
