Hi, anyone knows what this could be?
I've noticed it before at cold sometimes, just faint ticking which dissapeared as soon as the engine got warm.

However today i had a little drag race with a mazda rx8, left it for dead (stupidly whilst the engine hadnt warmed up fully yet).
I parked it and upon return i had the ticking noise back, much louder now! I hoped it would dissapear but it stayed for the whole drive back home. Seems to be coming from the front left side of the engine (when you pop the bonnet).
I've also noticed a very faint vibration at idle for the past coupla days, i can see the rpms slightly going up and down (not much) when the shuddering happens.

I checked the oil and water levels and all seems fine.

Also PMs for west london alternatives to bmw services if you know of any good ones, i also need to fix a broken stereo. :frown:

Could it be the engine mounts issue?

Oil not being warm enough.... The thick oil cant pass through properly. Always let you oil warm up! Once you have your oil change hopefully it will go.

Took it to BMW berry heathrow, they reported back saying they hoped it was the cambelt tensioner. After replacing this and some other parts (havent got the invoice with me) the sound is gone. Total £650.

I also asked them to replace the oil as i topped up with mobil 1 when the noise started. It seemed really low on oil.
Anyway car seems to be running perfectly now. However still think i have a ever so slight vibration at idle, maybe im imagining things...

Im in Ealing area.

iv got slight tickin noise on my gp when its cold on left hand side im un sure on wot it is?? but goes when warmed up never heard it whiles im drivin tho hope its not the start of something....
