Just signed up to the site so firstly would like to say hi to everone!

Secondly need advice as I want to uprate the suspension on my standard r56 mini one.

I've got 16" bridgespoke alloys so would like a slightly lower stance on the road.

So I need to know which coilover kits are the best, how much should I drop the car on 16" alloys and whether spacers would also be a good idea to make it look meaner?

Has anyone got any pictures of their mini lowered on 16" alloys?

Cheers

Dave

yea you probably have, i live more near henley but girlfriend lives in stratford :) - post a pic of you car and ill look out for ya :)

ride is to be frank not that bad - it bounces a lot more now on big bumps but overall i like it. for everyday driving its perfect, i regularly commute from lincoln to stratford and back (about once a week) and i have no problems; im prone to back problems.

it only affects the suspension warranty for example, if your your clutch went, it would still be under warranty but as i found out last weekend at Rybrook, anything in the suspension set up is not covered. i had to get anti-roll bar bushes done and they were not covered.

if you want to go down the coilover route, then KW V1 or V2 would be the best to go for.

KW V1 are the and only way to go at the minute if you want an all round set up for road. Inox coating means they won't rust, and require no maintenance! They're bang on!

Ye thought i'd seen ya! I live just up the road (yarningale common). I've been meaning to get some pics up but i'm red with white roof, white wing mirrors, white strips and white PH sticker on the back- cnt miss me :D

Worries me a bit about the warranty- how much do that set u back? Was it the springs that caused the extra wear? :hmph:

ill keep a look out and be prepared to wave back! lol

the bushes themselfs were £6 but with the fitting it was £70. i think it was just wear and tear - the car has done over 65k so its to be expected. you could always keep the standard springs and put them back on if anything happend then swap them again after.but if im honest i wouldnt worry too much

i had a puncture on Saturday, as i was fitting a spare wheel, something wasnt right, i took it back to the place that fitted my lowered springs, and they reckon both my rear shocks have gone, only done 13000 miles,
so i had to get them to refit original springs, i phoned dealer up this arvo, and they coming to pick car up on Wednesday to have a look.
Do you think they will be able to tell if i had lowered springs fitted, & should i put original wheels back on,

anyone wanna buy 30 mm lowered springs,?

i would say that your shocks would have gone without having the springs on - mine have been on for nearly 30k and know many many people who have had them on for the same/longer amount of time.

they shouldn't be able to tell if you have had lowering springs on and no i dont think you should worry about changing your wheels back. i had my steering rack changed with aftermarket wheels on.
