Hi Guys,

Bit gutted today I am afraid, car hit 30k yesterday and taking it to work this week as my other car is a lexus and can't handle even the lightest snow. Anyway, was driving on the motorway and didn't see a pheasant on the road till last minute and although i held the horn down it didn't get up in time and smashed its head off the front grill.

The front bumper is now bent underneath the car, scrapping off the floor and is snapped in multiple places. I have managed to tie it all together with some rope so that its not catching the floor anymore and its going in to Preston Hall bodyshop tomorrow for a quote.

Has anyone else ever required a new front bumper on a GP and if so, what was the damage and did they do a decent job. I am based in the North East (darlington) if anyone has any other suggestions, however, Preston Hall have been great in the past and did some work on my old B5 RS4 before it was sold and they did a damn site better than Audi's attempt.

There was one for sale on Total Mini but it was sold last week.

It will not be a cheap job to replace the bumper, fortunately I have hit a few things but have only unclipped the lower spoiler and smashed a side light.

Wow £700, that obviously doesn't include the labour charges either which i am gonna have to incur when its fitted. Can't believe they would charge so much its all made out of plastic ffs. Hopefully the guy can cut me some slack as i said he has done some work for me before, he actually painted the front bumper for me under warranty about a year ago because the paint was flaking off, a problem i no a few have had with the GP's. Anyway will let ya's no how i get on but if anyone see's any going cheap please let me no, or alternatively if anyone writes off a GP and the front end is intact give me a shout, allthough I wouldn;t wish that on anyone like
