Hi All

I'm trying to help a friend figure out an issue with his 09 Clubman and appreciate some help.

At seemingly random times the side/rear door opens. This could be while driving or when parked and no one in the car. Being a 03 S owner, I'm not 100% on the Clubman, so please bear with me.

I understand there is a button on the remote/key for the rear door, is this correct?

If so, can the unit be reprogrammed to remove this functionality?

My theory is the key is being pressed accidentally causing the door to open. Strange, but I'm at a loss for another explanation.

Any other ideas? I've searched through the site and havent found this specific issue. Please let me know if this has come up before.

I have a '09 Clubbie, and I have no button to open the doors. It will unlock them, but not open them. Also, the side door can NOT open by itself, as the passenger door has to be open for the side door to even think about it. There is a known problem with the rear door comming open due to moisture,Rain etc. and MINI will fix it if brought in to the Stealership as it has a wiring fix supposedly.

OK, looks like I am the Fool. It does have a button on the fob to open the rear door, but I have to keep it pressed in for about 4 seconds or longer for the right rear door to pop open. Just tried it out . it works. Heh!

It turns out my initial question was wrong, the problem is the rear door, not the rear side door. At what seems like random times a rear door opens. As expected the dealer says nothing is wrong, really strange issue.

The rear door has opened while the car is underway, so it's very unlikely the remote was accidentally pressed.

There is a fix. It has been noticed and there is a TSB on it. The Stealer is Yankin ya.
