It is good to see a posting from a Seattle owner! Last month I left a deposit at NW Mini for my Indi Blue Cooper with the Premium Pkg. The car is due in April...needless to say I am very excited. Is there an active Mini group in Seattle? Does anyone have feedback on NW Mini?

Thank you in advance for any help folks can offer.

Well, like you I put down a deposit in September for my Mini. Everyone at NW Mini was really nice, but then with no haggling over prices it makes it a much friendlier environment! Hopefully all my future experiences with them will be as good. 4 months and counting...:)

Sorry, too late! That was posted a few days ago, and now the sun is gone until mid July!

I used to live in Kenmore, and I miss the damp gloom of Seattle. http://www.plauder-smilies.de/natur/sunny.gif

Too funny, I used to live in Shoreline, now out in Kirkland, had a spirited drive down Ballinger Way last night, got to slow down ferore you pass the cop shop though!

And YES the sun is gone, next appearance is scheduled for July 17 at 2:42 pm, Summer will then last till July 17 at 7:12am. Please everyone be ready.....

Maybe we should plan our summer meet now....;)

AS for NW Mini, I'll get back to you on that....

Hey we can't complain about lack of sun, we have had a beautiful fall and the rain today is much needed. :)

I work over in Kirkland, saw a yellow and white this morning on 520, that was a first. I keep seeing more an more on the road around here.

Better be careful those Lake Forest Park police are notorious!!

OH I know about that cop shop, grew up in Bothell, with a 25 mph speed limit all around, tell you the truth, thats my worry with the Cooper S, I just need to realize that this much fun may just be worth the inevitable "Road Tax":D

I saw a yell/white on 520 too...more and more around, I got the # 201 tee-shirt, first 300 get em:)

BTW- dont tell everyone about the weather, my official story, "It rains every day!";)

You're right it is always raining here. ;)

(god forbid we encourage more motorists to move here, like there isn't enough freakin traffic here as it is!)

so how's the mini liking the rain?

Well, I almost didn't drive it today, have an extra Volvo in the driveway, but oh well, she's gonna get wet eventually. Maybe it will wash some of the breakdust off the white wheels:D Heres a pic of Mindi the MINI...(a bit dark, in the driveway)

She's a nice looking car, love the color combo. Does she have a name?

If you don't mind my asking, what did NW mini charge you above MSRP? I was so excited the day I test drove, I basically just handed over a check without asking too many questions! I'm pretty sure they said 495$. I'm like a big target for the dealer, I fell in love with the mini at first sight and know little about cars. Course with the mini there isn't a whole lot of negotiating that happens with price anyways.

oops, I see, Mindi. That is cute, I assume it is the whole Mini plus Indi blue thing? :)

Well, due to some errors on their part I paid MSRP only and got some free floor mats, I'll leave it at that for now. I am quite happy with the car, I think I'll be happier when there are more on the road, sometimes you feel like a fish in an aquarium...lots-a-looks:cool:

I moved myself and by BRG CVT Cooper to Issaquah. Nice tight, winding four mile blast down 900 is perfect for knocking out the cobwebs...

What color top do you have? I love the BRG color. Was my second choice, but I went with the Silk green. How long have you had the car?

White roof, chrome wheels. I've had it since late June and put about 6800 miles in on it. Just got my custom plate yesterday - ITLNJOB ;-)

You should post a pic if you have one, love to see it. My co-worker just mentioned seeing a brg over by montlake wonder if it was you :) Cute license plates ;), I have yet to come up with something clever, but I have several months to ponder...

One picture, coming up!

I've only seen a few other coopers around - there's a silver S that parks in the same lot as I do, and I've seen a silk green round Capitol Hill fairly regularly, but apart from that, they've been few and far between.

Got my stripes and lights done at NW Mini - they were very friendly and turned the work around in just a couple of hours. They've started offering a bunch of upgrades down there. Check 'em out...

Edit: Photos with lights/stripes forthcoming when I dig out the camera ;-)

My only experience with NW Mini so far has been the test drive and putting my money down. They were so nice and I hope the rest of the process is as easy.

I seem to be seeing so many more minis around, spotted a yellow and white yesterday on 520, and last week I saw my first all body color the same (chili red). I see the silk green in a lot by my work. I have to admit, I'll drive by every once in awhile so I can see it. It has all the same options I ordered.

Of course this board hasn't helped my impatient nature. Instead of working I keep checking it out and dreaming of my car! :)

Patience, grasshopper...

I was just as bad before mine came. Have to say, I had no problem with NW Mini - they treated me very well, very low pressure, didn't try anything sneaky like some other dealers I've encountered. Good guys - you're in safe hands. Are you checking your order status online? I did that 5-6 times a day for two months until it read "At Dealer" ;)

Hey maybe grasshopper would be a good name for my car.

My car doesn't go into production until January so I can't check status yet. How long after your production did it take to arrive? I have a feeling it will be early spring before I see my car.

Have you had any problems with the car so far? I chose the CVT as well. I see some minor issues that people have been having are posted on here. Worries me a bit as I'm not much of a car person and I don't want to be at the dealership with fixes all the time. Course for a car that looks like the MINI i'll chance it ;)

6-7 weeks from production to delivery, a bit of a delay because of the longshoremen lockout, but worked out just fine:)

I got in before the strike - about two weeks between end of production and delivery. Not bad.

The CVT is great for me because my commute is so stop n' go, and the daily commute forms the bulk of the driving I do. It's fun to throw it into Sports mode for acceleration/deceleration boosts, and the steptronic sees use now and again, but I mostly keep it in regular Drive. Sadly, the manual lacks any meaningful instruction on how to use the CVT, but you'll have plenty of time to research it during the burn-in period.

Never had a moments trouble with my CVT, though. 6800 miles and going strong!

I hope mine is sooner rather than later. With the economy as lousy as it is, I may be out of a job just about the time my MINI shows up. That would suck. Course I already figured out how I would pay if I was on unemployment. I may be eating ramen, but at least I'll have my MINI! priorities you know.

I'm glad to hear the CVT hasn't given you any trouble. Traffic here is so darn bad and I sit in it for so long each day I figured it was the best choice.

Saw 2 on my way home last night. I always get a big :) when I see one.

Sunny and off in the Mini.
Ours we named Udo after the German actor Udo Kier..
We have been tooling around since August.
I have toned down on the washing department. I'd rather be driving the little bugger.
