What a shame, I've been away from the site for a while and to come on today and find out this news, sad indeed. But it's not surprising the site has changed beyond all recognition from when I joined and not for the better. It's awash with ads, seems making money is the priority.
Paul you should be rightly proud in what you put together here especially in the early years. Having a vision is one thing , but having the guts to get out there and set it up is another. You've had such a positive impact on many peoples lives. As an early post put it, I've visited parts of the country with my Mini I would never have dreamed of going to, for me that's anything north of Watford :)
All the best for the future.

Been busy for a couple of days and come back to find this. The AF people really are morons.

Thanks for all you've done here Paul. It was a great site through which I found out a lot of valuable info. In particular I saved quite a bit of money on the purchase of my MINI due to what I found out about local dealers on here. I also met a lot of really cool people both online and in real life because of this place and had a lot of fun. Thanks again!

Just like to say a special Goodbye and Thank You to Ron AKA MINIAC after he was removed as administrator by AutoForums in his absence and with no apparent advanced notice.

I did say so in his own thread regarding his departure (Autoforums idea, not his) from MINI2, however that thread has sadly been removed by the powers that be as unceremoniously as he was, and I feel he deserved a lasting tribute as many other members had also thanked him for his tireless contributions to MINI2.

So thank you MINIAC, MINI2 will be a poorer place without your guidance and input, which has been so valuable over the past ten years.

It's all gone mad Paul.

From the early days, the Gaydon Museum, russ swift show and the Peak's run, you have been there. some great memories.

Your input, as well as some of the other Early moderators has been invaluable. It has certainly helped us with our first Mini problems.

Don't let them get to you - if the Forum wants to be run like a corporate machine, then ultimately it will just dwindle away...

This forum has been changing in an unfortunate way the last couple years, and the dismissal of Paul and Ron
as administrators are two more giant steps in that direction.
Both of you have ample reason to be very proud of your contributions over the many years you were present here.
It's probably time I stop checking in here as well.
See you all on NAM and Motoringunderground, and probably time for me to start looking at TotalMini again.
