I am having to sell my Works due to the need for an automatic thanks to a bad left knee

It's an 04, 73k on the clock, full history, Chilli pack, full aero kit, nice aftermarket iPod stereo etc. Good colour combo of red with white. 9 months tax, only a month's MOT but am getting it tested next week. I would say the condition is consistent with age and mileage.

I have it advertised on here, PH and Autotrader at £6,995 (already come down from £7,495 and then £7,095, seemingly too ambitious).

I am getting no interest (apart from one lad who couldn't get insured after checking, and another guy who wanted know how little I'd take but never came back in response to my email  ).

When I bought it a year ago with 69k on the clock it was competitively priced given the spec, colour etc.

Am I aiming too high price wise (doesn't seem so), has the sunny weather stopped people buying hatchbacks or are people feeling the impact of the recession and oil prices?

I have put a deposit down on another car, but the dealer's p/ex offer is far too low, hence the private sale

I am a bit baffled...ideas? :puzzled:

This saddens me... so much for the cars keeping their value eh :( Your price is a fair price IMO and would be what I would want for a standard JCW of that age/condition/miles....

However, it must be too much still.... is it all OEM stuff/parts/equipment ? Non-OEM stuff of any sort tends to put alot of buyers off....

I would have sold my car at the end of last year had the market been better - I had a few interested but it still wasnt enough to make me part with the car.....

:mad:Still no interest at all over the weekend ... not even someone wanting to look and then make a cheeky offer :( I haven't had to answer questions about the parts as no one has asked!

I don't want to sell, but will need to on medical grounds

The car is standard, I might even put the stereo back in ... Bridgestone runflats, dk if those were used by Mini but they are the same all round and in very good condition

It is odd, not sure what else to do really. I am having it MOT'd on Wednesday

I think people are shying away from performance petrol cars and youngsters with the disposable income cannot get insured sensibly! The Ones and Coopers may keep their value but the S and Works don't seem to

I am really not prepared to part ex it for under 6k!
 I paid £8300 a year ago which was a fair price then! The market has just plumetted it seems, not helped by a litre of super UL now costing £1.25!

At least the dealer from whom I am buying the other car isn't chasing me!

Got £6500 for it on Monday, better than the p/ex. Bit disappointing but it seems Mini values aren't what they were. Get the VW at the weekend

Well done with the sale ;) Ive been offered good money on mine which if I can find the right car and get round to stripping out the performance parts on mine I will be accepting... ;)
