Looking at getting some coilovers for my mini one 2003. I'm not really interested in the performance as i will not be driving dangerously fast or doing any track days. I'm more interested in the stance and look (Going low), so can anybody give me some advice on some cheap coilovers please?

Thanks
Becko

You just need to change the springs..... About £200.00 go to the Lohen site

I've already done that buddy, but i need to go lower!! :-)
I want coilovers so i can adjust the height to go as low as possible. Going for the Dub/Euro style look.

Thanks for the help anyway :D

I have 17" x 7.5" wheels, My plan is to lower it as much as possible, and put wheel spacers on to pull them out from under the car and then stretch the tyres.
Just checked out those v-max's, they look pretty good for the price. And go to about a 70mm drop which is much more than KW's etc.

Thanks for the heads up :-)

What offset are your wheels and what size tires do you plan to use?

I honestly don't know the offset, nor the tyres I intend to use. Sorry.

If you want to prevent the tires from rubbing on the arches you need to consider these things before you add wheel spacers and slam your MINI ;)

Thanks for tips, and your car is really nice :)
Hopefully, if i stretch my rear tyres enough, it should limit how much cutting i will have to do haha. I'm planning on trimming the underside of the front bumper, as the black plastic on the underside will hit the speed bumps i think :/
I'm from the midlands, just above Birmingham.

You need to know the offset of the wheels. Ive been looking at going euro and ive had some trouble - mainly because i have the brembo brakes and cant find suitable wheels.

I have AP coilovers and imo best value for money coilovers - they are KW V1 equivalent, made by the same company in the same factory. i highly recommend them.

my wheels are 18x7 et38 and they rub like a *****. to get a good euro look you will want something like 17x8 et38 with a 195/45 tyre the more stretch the better

Adam, how do the APs compare to standard suspension with regards to comfort? Are they harsher/bouncier etc?

I have set mine pretty low, but not on the lowest and it is certainly...sporty. I cant really compare to the standard suspension, because before the coilovers i had lowering springs on for over a year. they are much much more comfortable than the lowering springs, and they are around 20mm lower than the springs were.

i like a hard ride, ive been driving my parents 407 the last week or so and it makes me feel nauseous! lol
