I recently bought my first mini, a 2006 Mini Cooper S Checkmate. It has a panoramic sunroof and I have been wondering over the last 2 months if the rear part of the sunroof is actually supposed to tilt as I can't get it to and it looks like it should.

The BMW garage I bought it from is not sure and is going to let me know but I was wondering if anyone else would be able to advise. I am hoping I just don't know how to open it as I have had to take the car in 5 times to the garage already for several issues and I don't want to have to take it back again.

As far as I know, no, the rear portion of the sunroof doesn't tilt or open in any way.

The rear section of your sunroof definitely ISN'T supposed to open. Only the later MINIs had this feature.
