: questions about (a) broken mirror and (b) airbag light

As I was parallel parking today hit into a truck (completely my fault) and popped off my right side mirror. Came off surprisingly cleanly but not sure how to put it back on, and I just refuse to sink more money into my car anymore. The wire is severed but honestly I almost never adjusted it anyway so I'm more concerned with getting it back on. Any cheap, effective, simple way to put it back on? It sort-of stays on if I put it on manually but it comes off very easily and would fall off if I tried driving with it. I'd rather do something better than glue it on, but I'd do that sooner than sinking more money into the car.

Also, my airbag light has been on for a few months, first came on a few days after a minor fender bender, not sure if there's any connection. Is there any way to fix it myself? I'd rather spend $150 on a diagnostic computer thing that I might be able to use again if there is one that would tell me what the problem is and reset the light.

I bought a B200 airbag reset tool off ebay to cancel my airbag light, cost new in UK was about £50.

The mirror could probably be glued (as a temporary fix) using something like builders silicone sealant then left overnight to cure in position.

Thanks for the info! Builder's sealant isn't a bad idea, though I was kind of hoping for something that won't be too hard to remove if I decide to get the mirror fixed properly later on.

Regarding the B200 thing, I will look into that; does it just reset the light or will it let me know if there is actually a problem with the airbag? Or will the light just come back if there is a genuine problem?
