Riddle me this...

While all can agree, we've had fun at our meets;

Parading our MINIs all through the streets;

Discussing such topics as stripes, tints and wheels;

Even enjoying a light tasty meal.

You'll have to admit, though, something's been lacking,

Something substantial, more than just yakking;

Some sort of challenge, something arresting,

We can't tell you yet, though, you'll have to keep guessing.

Have we piqued your interest? Are you curious yet?

Are you dying to know, or could you care less?

Are you up for a gamble, a roll of the dice?

Get your thinking cap on (a MINI hat will suffice).

You won't see any cones, not exactly a race,

But don't worry; we'll still put a smile on your face!

So, be ready to motor, and hey, bring a friend,

On November 16th, at 11 am!

While your MINI is swift and clever as you,

That won't be enough, nope, not just you two.

You will need a partner, co-pilot of sorts,

To keep track of gas, make notes on reports.

With two weeks remaining, there's no time to waste

So send out your invite, right away and with haste!

Your navigator needs to make plans to attend

Along with you, his most motoring friend!

Are you ready to motor? Are you ready to ride?

Are you ready to put all your worries aside?

Down roads, streets, avenues and even some alleys;

It's Florida's First MINI Road Rally!

Although endgame details can't be revealed,

It's simply not fun if the end isn't concealed!

We'll tell you where the rally starts;

What time to arrive, what time we'll embark.

From there it's up to you to follow directions:

Right, left or straight through intersections.

At Copans Road and US1

In Pompano is where we'll start the fun.

That's Pompano Square Mall, Southeast parking lot,

For snacks and registration at 11 o'clock.

Precisely at noon the first car will depart;

Then everyone else, about a minute apart.

Lunch will be served, drinks will be too,

With South Motors MINI to thank for the food.

So keep checking back, as more info we'll share;

We're hoping to see 100 MINIs there!!

Really looking forward to MM3!

Questions:

1)Having a Co-Pilot/navigator is an absolute requirement to participate?

2)Does this "rally" require breaking of traffic laws?:D

3)Any prizes awarded?

That's all me can think for now.....

1) Navigator not required but recommended!
2) Specifically NO laws should be broken, traffic or otherwise! :D
3) Prizes WILL be awarded!

Hello everyone! Ok, here's the deal.....

I'm definately attending the 16th meet! (wouldn't miss it for the
world) I'm bringing my baby bro along! (he wanted to go to the sept.
15th one but didn't feel up to it when i woke him up early!) But
being that this one is at 11am, and he's usually up by then anyway,
he should be fine for this one! But anyway....... Being that this is
going to be a rally and people are going to be driving their
minis.... I feel kind of awkward participating when i don't have my
mini yet! :( So what i was curious to know is if there are any mini
owners who will be participating in the events of the day, and do not
have a "navigator" to go along with....... AND if that person would
mind me bringing my little bro along! :D I spoke w/ 'wynonna' about
it and basically, i have no problem tagging along, or if worse comes
to worst I'll just stick behind w/ my bro and just help out with
anything that the organizers of this wonderful event may need help
with! Either way i'm sure i'll have a good time, and that's all that
matters!

So.... If you're in need of a navigator & don't mind having a
goofball & his baby brother along for the ride.... either post here,
or e-mail me at davefrehley@minicooperonline.com ! Thanks! Talk to ya
soon!

Sounds like fun:D Wont know if I can make it till closer to the day:( So its kinda gonna be a treasure hunt in our minis huh? Or a cryptic clued rally and hopefully everyone makes it to the end. Is it going to be a timed event?? Is that how you judge the winners?
Limey.

wynnonna

Limey,

It is timed, but not in a "who finishes first wins". It is not only the timing that is used to figure out the winners. There are other things involved as well...

It will be a fun time and we all hope you can make it! :)

minicoopersgirl

Limey,
I hope you can make it, because it wouldn't be the same without you. All the Florida events I've been to you and your family has been there. Really hope you and everyone else in Florida can make it!

I posted this on MCO, and Floridamini (But THAT one was deleted)

Anyone from Central or North FL heading down for the meet...would you be interested in a caravan down? I am leaving Friday night and getting a room. I think there are several others from this area doing the same, and it would be really neat if we could all caravan down together. Just an idea :)

Holly.

Third time's a charm,

My wife and I would like to go down on the day but we are not decided yet, We have family commitments and without knowing the >ROUGH< area the Rally will end we probably wont go. If it heads south for three hours it's just too far for us to get home. Ft lauderdale or north would be good though!

wynnonna
Nov 10th, 2002, 09:22 PM
All,

Sorry for delay!! Rally does NOT head South for 3 hours! In fact, to Orlando from Rally's end will probably be a 3 hour drive (maybe less!:)) To use your reference, it does end in Ft. Lauderdale or North...

Hey, how far South would 3 hours lead you, anyway!? Would you be partying in the Keys or swimming towards Cuba by that point?! ;)

I hope that helps! Need additional info, PM me and I'll send you specifics ;)...

WHO: MINIs and their owners & a Navigator (or 2)
WHAT: South Florida's FIRST MINI/Mini Road Rally!
WHERE: Starts at Pompano Square Mall, Copans Road & US1 (in the Southeast parking lot)
WHEN: Snacks & registration at 11 A.M, First MINI launches at Noon
WHY: Because it's rally fun!

Other notes....
At the rally's end (which should be about 2 hours) food and drinks will be served, compliments of SOUTH MOTORS MINI. There will be plenty of parking for MINIs and lots of activities in which to partake. As if anyone would rather play games than talk MINIs....

So as not to give too much away, the most I'd like to say is that the rally starts and ends in Broward, so those far-travelling MINIs don't have to worry about having to trek home from the Keys...

T-shirts will be available for sale... you can order them when you pre-register at www.minifla.com. We will have limited quantities of tshirts available; pre-ordering ensures you get yours.... ;)

Please, pre-register at www.minifla.com/mm3/

Any questions, please email me at minicoopersgirl@yahoo.com

On behalf of Cathy, Peter & Myself, we look forward to a GREAT turnout and hope to see you all there!!!

Should be great! A cold front is expected in South Florida by the weekend, so temperatures are expected to be in the 60's and 70's.....really nice.

What a contrast it will be from hot and muggy MM2 back in September.

Thank you for that great weather update Cooper4us!
Only 3 more days...trying to get everything finalized.
Those who haven't, please pre-register at www.minifla.com/mm3/
Hope to see EVERYONE there ;)

Okay, this may be a little late to ask, but do those of us coming down for the rally need to bring stuff along the lines of laptops with street proggies, gps's...etc. Will the rally directions be easy enough for those of us unfamiliar to the area to navigate?? LOL. Just wondering!!

Well I tried but it just isn't working out for me this meet :(

Hope you all have fun, I'll be thinking of you.

Holly - No you won't need a navigation system of any sort. The pace notes will (should) be easy enough for everyone to follow....we don't want to get you lost?!?!?! ;)

Pebble - I am so sorry you are going to miss out. Maybe the next meet you can attend, but it won't be the same as this one is......making you feel bad?

I've heard reports from some people registering and having problems. After you filled out the registration form, if you did not see a page that said "You're now registered", please register again. If you don't remember, go ahead and do it again anyway! I'll just delete any duplicate entries that are in there. You should also get to a page that is the order page for a Tshirt that you can pay for via paypal.

Just to help us out with our planning efforts, if you are going to attend, please register at: http://www.minifla.com/mm3/.

If you are still not sure if you are going to be able to make it, you can still show up tomorrow morning and register up until 11:50am.

Thanks! See you there!
