: Springs or Coilovers?

ok recently bought an R53 MCS with Aero Kit.

deciding between getting Eibach Pro springs or some AP/KW coilovers.

just taking into consideration that the aero kit has it looking a little lower than a normal anyway, and that springs are 150 and wont damage my exisitng dampers, or spending 500 on coilovers??

seen a few aero'd minis with a 30mm drop and they still look really good, but will it be enough??

my MCS is my daily and i do drive to work.

should i play it safe with springs or go get coilovers?

:puzzled:

if any of you have a nice setup or any views then holla at this post.

:dark:

:rofl8yi:

ive had springs and now coilovers, and coilovers are the way to go. after 6 months youll be bored of a 30mm drop and want more - and with coilovers you can do that. my car is a daily drive, (25k a year) and i find them fine. i have a 45/50mm drop on the front and dont really struggle with speed bumps etc.

i have AP coilovers and have found them really impressive. coumghy, easy to adjust and they go lower than KW

Short answer = Go for coilovers.

You can get a fairly good setup just with springs but even the very best springs setup can easily be better by some good coilovers...

I have JCW shocks and H&R 40mm springs and the ride is very good - basically JCW suspension ride just a tad firmer, less roll, and lower = good ! :D

I have an aero kit and with the above and 17" S-Spokes I rub/scrape on things... normally its just the airdam under the bumper but the front part of the kit rubs quite often - although I now go pretty slowly to try to avoid any bad rubbing... ;)

Clicky thumbs of my car:

yea, it will take a couple of hours but once you start undoing bolts it is pretty self explanatory and makes sense!

if your wanting to go nice and low you wont be able to with 19s, not only because of the size of the rim, also the width. im struggling with 18s, @ 7" wide. its lowered about 55-60mm on the front and the strut is about 3mm from my tyre:
