i recently purchased a 2003 mini cooper s and i believe it has a chilli pack as it has sat nav, climate control, cruise control, 3 spoke mfsw and so on however for some reason it has standard halogen lights, the person i bought it off told me they replaced the bonnet because it was vandalised so im thinking could they have put halogen lights back in or is there any way to find out whether my car came initially specced with xenons... thanks

Im pretty sure about this though someone will correct me if im wrong!

The xenons have different wiring looms to halogen so I doubt they would have changed it. Also I bought a brand new R53 MCS when it came out and the option sheet on the chilli pack then did not include MFSW or Climate Control. The Sat Nav has always been a separate option also.

You can double check with a MINI dealer what options were fitted to the car from your number plate, chassis number for peace of mind.

If you are looking at them and think they are going to have the projector style xenons, you would be wrong. The 03 had the ones that actually looked like standard halogens but if you looked in the light area it would tell you they were Xenons on a bit of plastic.

Here is a thread with photos...
