Ive had my mini cooper for about 6/7 months now and im slowly getting the want for more power! I saw on a thread i could get a remap of the ecu and gain 12bhp for £125. Is there any other beneficial upgrade for that kind of price? People seem to be slating the idea of an induction kit on here? Saying they only give 2/3bhp? Its almost like there is a reason why people arent getting their ecu's remapped?!
Oh and one other question! My seat belt warning light doesnt work (doesnt come when you dont wear a seat belt!), is there any lead that people commonly take out to stop it from working?
Cheers

You need to tell us what car you have - age and model will determine what performance mods are possible / sensible to do

Then my recomendation would be do not do any significant engine performance modifications as you will further expose the weakness of the Midland Gearbox that your car has.
You could also upgrade the midland gearbox to a 6 speed Geartrag unit but is it worth the overalll expense --- it has been done, and is becoming more popular as Midland gearboxes fail.

Right, the 6 speed gear box that the cooper s has? Maybe run an insurance quote on a cooper s then eh!

My gearbox has just gone, and ive got uprated parts inside soo mine should be ok for a while :) but yes i agree with snowie that the gearbox in our model is absolutely useless and the more power you have the more strain your putting on it.
