I took delivery of a Midnight Black One D yesterday, with the black mirror caps. I used to have chrome on my last one, and forgot to add this. I have done a bit of searching and can see dealer options for £100 plus fitting or ones that stick on with 3m tape. I am not too keen on the sticky ones, and the dealer price is a bit high.

Are there any other options, someone mentioned on another thread clip on ones, but I can't find any.

1st Gen mirror covers are a different shape from 2nd Gen.

It's quite possible that your only options are OEM replacements or aftermarket overlays.
