Just joined up today so hoping someone can help me out.

I recently acquired a 2009 Cooper S and I come from pretty decent car modding background. I had various cars in the UK that I used to subtly modify before moving out to the US a year ago. ELectronics isn't my strong point so have a couple questions

I purchased a few of the LED bulbs from AutoLumination last week to replace the dull OEM's over the rear license plate. They illuminate fine but I get the Bulb Warning Light when I turn the car on. What is the best option:

1) Wire in a resistory
2) Get different bulbs with a higher voltage. Any ideas on which? Which ones have people used, if any?

I have actually emailed AutoLumination as well but haven't had a response as yet.

with the new R56 models they have can-bus systems thay warn you when the lights are out, so as LEDs are low watt bulbs the car will automatically think the bulbs are blown, you will have to buy the can-bus canceller LED bulbs to overcome the light out warning.

nope not halfords you can try either ebay, carnoisseur where i got mine for £21 at the time or from newministuff they sell everything mini :)

where about in the uk will you be going? strange i would expect the US would be on point with small little things like this in the car modding field.

Spending some time in London and in the NW visiting family.

Yeah there is a lot of stuff like that about here in the US, I just thought I could pick them up quicker in the UK. No bother, I'll get them ordered while I'm away.

While I'm on the subject does anyone know which bulbs will replace:
2 x Puddle Lights
2 x Footwell lights
1 c Dome light

Are they all the #194? http://autolumination.com/194.htm
Not sure which length they should be either?
