hi im replacing my 2002 s engine, crank wrung a bearing!! i have located an engine out of a 2004 jcw s, both w11b16 engine codes, i know the 2004 engine has different specs such as higher bhp when made, does anyone know if the 2004 engine wouldn't be compatble in any forbidden way. i was thinking ecu?? a remap of my own may sort this? will ignition work? advise please thanks.

I am new to mini's but I think if they have the same engine codes that other engine should work just fine. If anything strip it down to a longblock and places all your stuff on the new long block and any other items for better performance.
